Regional Portfolio Officer (Kenya) | ReliefWeb


Save the Children UK (SCUK) has transitioned the management of its country based operations to Save the Children International (SCI). SCUK has set up regionally focused teams who support SCI to effectively deliver SCUK’s programmes and include fundraising, project/programme management/reporting support and the coordination of technical assistance.


The East Africa portfolio comprises of Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Rwanda and Uganda.


The key responsibilities for the Regional Portfolio Officer for Kenya are as follows:


  • Manage SCUK’s programme portfolio, ensuring our work is aligned with our strategic breakthrough goals, is of high quality and is financially sustainable

  • Contribute to the achievement of overall account portfolio targets, working closely with the Head of Regional Portfolio, Strategic Partnerships and other key Save the Children partnerships.

  • Donor compliance including timely drafting, editing and reviewing of proposal narratives, donor reports and project finances

  • Support country offices in meeting key programme deliverables

About you:


We are looking for the post holder of this role to have experience of project proposal development and report writing, particularly in reference to DFID, EuropeAid, ECHO and / or UNICEF and experience in grant/contract management with knowledge of institutional donor compliance requirements.


You will have good working knowledge of one or more countries from the East Africa region and understanding of context and operating environment issues.


You will have knowledge of project cycle management, competency in financial processes and reporting. You will also be willing to travel up to 25% time.


In return we offer a salary of £31,000 – £33,000 dependent on experience, training and career development.
