Job Description

Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) is a State Corporation established in 1986 with obligation to undertake forest research, generate and promote improved technologies for sustainable management, conservation and development of forest and allied natural resources.

The Institute wishes to recruit a dynamic, result-oriented and self driven person to fill the vacant position below:

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures;

Perform general accounting duties: collect revenue, process payments, monitor revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets;

Verify, compile, maintain and file records;

Process accounting and transaction reports;

Safe keeping of invoices, receipts and other accounts records;

Carry out regular stock takes and report accordingly;

cash book postings;

Monthly bank reconciliations.

Requirements for Appointment

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade “C-” (C minus) or its equivalent;

Part II of the Certified Public Accountant of Kenya or its equivalent from a recognized institution; and

Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognised institution.
