Job Description
Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI) is a State Corporation established in 1986 with obligation to undertake forest research, generate and promote improved technologies for sustainable management, conservation and development of forest and allied natural resources.
The Institute wishes to recruit a dynamic, result-oriented and self driven person to fill the vacant position below:

Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare technical specifications for software development;
Analyze, design, develop and implement software solutions and applications to address user requirements;
Analyze data and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions;
Provide minor programming modifications to the existing systems;
Write technical procedures and documentation for developed systems and applications including operations, and user guide to ensure that solutions are easily understandable and usable;
Document all project workflow and applications for easier follow-up, coordination, maintenance and support;
Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting of various systems;
Web design, updates, debugging.
Requirements for Appointment
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) of at least mean grade “C +” (C plus) or its equivalent;
Bachelor‟s degree in Computer Science OR Information Communication Technology or its equivalent;
At least four (4) years‟ work experience in software development and programming;
Knowledge in systems and database design including ERP systems
Experience in Microsoft .NET, JAVA, C++, ASP.net
Analytical and problem solving skills.
Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
Web development applications including PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript among others;
Good communication skills.
