Accountant Job Opportunity

Duma Works is recruiting an accountant for one of our clients. 

The client is a vibrant and dynamic

company that is based in Germany with a branch in Tanzania, it consists of an

international team bringing off-grid energy to rural locations in East

Africa. 

They develop, engineer, finance and

operate sites in developing world communities as well as provide reliable

backup to business customers in the region.

Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Job Requirements

The company is looking for a disciplined and honest candidate who wants to work

with a growing business that aims to change the way power is provided around

the world. 

The candidate will work closely with

the Country Manager. 

The candidate should possess excellent

communication skills, attention to detail and should be flexible .

 Duties and Responsibilities

• Expenses Management (scanning receipts,
  
  ensuring they are valid and reasonable)


• Financial reporting to Country Manager, KPMG
  
  and central controlling function


• Reconcile accounts at end of month


• Transfer hardcopy to KPMG periodically


• Process Invoices and Online Payments


• Assist in drafting of weekly budget


• Conduct revenue reporting


• Manage mobile money transfers to bank


• File VAT transactions


• Manage and reconcile cash transactions (petty
  
  cash, pier diem etc.) and invoicing


• Execute cash payments


• Create revenue statements


• Create Purchase Orders


• Manage processes and tools for cash flow
  
  planning, controlling, tax, invoicing, payment execution for local entity


• Manage processes and relationship with
  
  external  accounting & tax advisors


• Manage month-end closure for local entity


• Create monthly reports for Country Manager


• Close alignment with Country Manager and
  
  Central Finance Team

Required Skills and Experience:

• Chartered CPA


• Competent in computer use, in particular
  
  Microsoft Excel


• Fluency in oral and written English and
  
  Kiswahilli


• At least 3 years’ experience in accounting or
  
  bookkeeping duties


• Good interpersonal skills


• Ability to work in a multi-cultural
  
  environment


• Effective organisation skills and ability to
  
  meet timely deadlines.
