Our client is into construction specialising in high quality construction and building works to accommodate an increase in demand for a wide range of construction requirements.

 

It is on its way to being recognised as a multi-disciplinary company. It is based in Seychelles Island and they are looking to recruit a lead quantity surveyor.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client


• Authorise subcontract orders


• Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work


• Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies


• Performing risk, value management and cost control


• Advising on procurement strategy


• Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks


• Preparing and analyzing costing for tenders


• Allocating work to subcontractors


• Providing advice on contractual claims


• Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports


• Valuing completed work and arranging payments


• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use


• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations


• Prepare contract performance reports for CEO, and go through the results


• Ensure the department runs in accordance with the company policies and procedures

Education & Experience:

• Degree in Building and Construction or quantity survey


• Must be a member of IQSK


• Must be registered with BORAQS


• At least 5 years relevant experience


• Experience in leading ateam of quantity surveyors


• Excellent planning skills


• Analytical mind


• Good team player


• Ability to work without supervision


• Very keen attention to details


• Report writing skills
