Kenya: MANAGER OF INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT SERVICES, AFRICA

CARE USA is looking for a Manager of Infrastructure Support Services who will lead the execution and support of CARE’s technology infrastructure strategy both for designated Country Offices and Regional Management Unit offices on the African Continent. This position will mentor, guide and direct a ICT staff across the designated areas of oversight be responsible for effective budgeting, planning, scheduling, prioritization, operations, resource management, staff development and conflict resolution.


This position will report back to our headquarters operations in Atlanta, Georgia and collaborate with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department Directors and Managers in the review, analysis, and evaluation of infrastructure system solutions to inform strategies and goals for CARE’s worldwide technical infrastructure, including but not limited to local and wide area network, Internet service providers, wireless access, data security, telecommunication and VoIP.


This position will provides consulting services to CARE’s Country Offices and Regional Management Units for assessing, determining needs, strategic planning and implementing technology globally. Ensures that technology deployed meets current standards. Researches, identifies and recommends technical resources and components to improve corporate infrastructure platforms and streamline recurring administrative efforts, contributing to the overall success of the organization by contributing to the delivery of ICT services.


Qualifications (Know-How):


· Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)


· One or more specific network certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, or CCNP)


· 8 – 10 years’ experience working in an IT environment


· 8 – 10 years’ experience as a systems or network engineer supporting IT Infrastructure Operations


· 4 – 6 years’ experience as a team lead or manager for network or system engineers


· 4 – 6 years’ experience in administration, operational management, and budget analysis


· Suitable multicultural/international experience for working with supported Country Offices, if applicable


· Experience developing, implementing and maintaining enterprise-class communications and application infrastructures


· Knowledge of ITIL Foundations, and the concepts, processes, procedures and controls for assigned focus areas


· Experience in established IT infrastructure and operations analysis tools, methods, and best practices (e.g. ITIL)


· Experience in strategic planning for organizational infrastructures


· Experience providing leadership, management and technical expertise to diverse technical staff


· Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and projects in a matrixed environment


· Experience in Coaching and Mentoring


· Demonstrated experience in infrastructure operations Budget Planning and Management


· Good Client Partnership and Stakeholder Management skills


· Knowledge of Information Systems, including Software Development and Application


· Strong Problem Solving and Critical Thinking skills demonstrated through innovative solutions to complex issues


· Experience implementing and managing Windows Server Operations (Win 2003/2008, MS SQL 2005/2010, Exchange 2007/2010)


· Experience implementing and supporting enterprise technology architecture, strategy and planning, including virtualization, SAN, advanced routing and switching


· Experience in business continuity and disaster recovery strategy development, planning, testing and execution


· Experience with Commercial hardware/software evaluation and implementation


· Excellent Interpersonal skills


· Working knowledge of team management and team building skills


· Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills (English required, French desired)


· Strong analytical/problem solving skills, ability to provide alternatives, root cause analysis, testing skills and ability to prepare business case are also among the skills required.


· Must poses substantial experience designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise-class infrastructure
