The Women’s Health Project: The Women’s Health Project, established in 1993, is
a collaborative effort of the University of Nairobi (UoN), the University of
Washington (UW), the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), Mombasa County
and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC), and the US President’s
Emergency Program for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Objectives
- To provide high quality care to at-risk and HIV-positive
women participating in the high-risk women’s cohort (Mombasa Cohort). - To conduct innovative prevention and treatment research that
will contribute substantially to local as well as global knowledge and
implementation of effective interventions. - To conduct clinical trials according to ICH-GCP and deliver
quality services, products and devices.
Job Summary: The incumbent will be responsible for performing
various data management tasks: data entry, data cleaning and processing
functions in an accurate and timely fashion. He/she will also develop SOPs for
various data management procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in data entry, retrieval, data cleaning and
interpretation. - Carry out data downloading and uploading as per protocol.
- Collate, query and clean data including flagging out
inconsistencies and/or errors arising from data collected as part of
routine data checks. - Coordinate query resolution processes with various teams.
- Conduct data quality control/assurance activities.
- Completion of data case report forms.
- Organizing appropriate filing system in the data/archiving
rooms. - Perform participant safety calls and document in appropriate
data collection forms. - Assist in generating participants with overdue visits for
tracing. - Assist in design and development of various data collection
tools. - Data entry into the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) such as
IMedidata, Redcap, emme’s. - Perform additional duties as may be assigned by their
supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Health Records.
- Diploma in IT/ICT related Courses with experience in clinical
data management. - At least 1-year experience in Clinical Research, HIV care and
epidemiological studies is an added advantage. - Experience in handling data entries and queries.
- Training in Human Subjects Protection and Good Clinical
Practice is an added advantage. - Training in data management and related courses is an added
advantage.
