Background:

Fairtrade Africa (FTA) is the umbrella organisation representing Fairtrade certified producers in Africa. FTA aims to effectively represent producers within the International Fairtrade system and to contribute to livelihood improvement of African producers by increasing access to markets. Established in 2005, the FTA directs policy and strategic development of the organisation. FTA has four (4) regional networks - Eastern, Southern, West and North Africa supporting producer activities.

Job Purpose And Reporting:

As the Regional Manager, you will play a key role in setting up local and regional activities for Fairtrade Africa and have overall responsibility for coordination of activities in Eastern Africa including producer support and consultation.

Specific Tasks

Support the regional board in realizing the vision of the Eastern Africa region. Support the FTA management in providing leadership for the region. Lead regional strategy and project development and implementation. Actively engage in preparing annual work plans, annual reporting and local / regional coordination of activities according to the plans. Effectively coordinate regional grassroots structures such as country and product networks, plan, coordinate and report on programme and project activities in line with Fairtrade Africa
vision. Initiate & manage local and regional activities in close alignment with Fairtrade Africa, the regional board and country networks. Lead the development of annual work plans and specific plans for developing Fairtrade activities in the region. Drive sustainability of regional plans through partnerships and resource mobilisation. Develop and maintain regional network of partners to facilitate and support the regional
strategy. Ensure efficient financial and management systems are in place at the regional level. Facilitate country and product partnerships to increase access for producers. Establish and maintain effective communication with producers. Promote greater producer participation in Fairtrade. Represent Eastern Africa Network whenever as may be required.Knowledge and Experience

Required

Experience in developing and supporting ethical and sustainable supply chains; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate successfully in an environment with multiple stakeholders and people from different cultures; Knowledge of inclusive development and sustainable pro-poor business initiatives; Relevant Master’s degree in either Agriculture, development studies, Economics, Business,

Job Title: Gold Network CoordinatorCategory: National/ InternationalSalary Range (Gross): £9,000 per year (50% of a full time post – 20 hours per week)Fairtrade Africa Purpose: To improve the socio-economic conditions of African producers through increased access to better trading conditions.Job Purpose: To ensure that a strong network of NGOs, miners and practitioners committed to a common vision of responsible mining in the region is established in East Africa.Background: Since 2010 Fairtrade International and the Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) have partnered to promote the formalisation of artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM). The partnership, with Solidaridad as an allied, supports artisanal and small-scale miners in adopting best practice in social and environmental standards and becoming Fairtrade and Fairmined certified. Job Purpose

The post holder will work with the Executive Director and colleagues across Fairtrade Africa to develop the market for the FAIRTRADE Mark in Kenya including setting up of the relevant institutional and organisational structures deliver effective communication of the Fairtrade’s work to commercial operators, and lead the development of a Fairtrade movement in Kenya so as to build sales, awareness, support and enthusiasm for the FAIRTRADE Mark and understanding of the added-value to producers and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Oserian Fair-Trade Joint Body Self Help Group is seeking to recruit an Administrative Officer to provide administrative and management support of project activities within and around the vicinity of the Oserian Development Company limited.

The candidate for this post will be a patient, knowledgeable person with extensive experience in rural/community development work and one able to transfer needed capacities to the JB.

Answering directly to the JB.

He/she will satisfy the following employment requirements.

Key Tasks and responsibilities:
* Translate and operationalize policy decisions taken by the JB.
* Work with respective JB sub-committees to ensure efficient and effective implementation of JB approved projects.
* Maintain agreed upon registers and generate premium movement project progress and other reports as required.
* Manage all fair-trade premium and project activity records and accounts.
* Maintain liaison and follow-up relationships on behalf of the JB with assigned liaison officers, Oserian Development Company Ltd management, elected community representative? and other relevant authorities.
* Ensure accurate and timely minutes of all JB meetings.
* Identify and propose opportunities for increased capacity development of the JB.
* Assist the JB in the identification, preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of social development projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:-
* Diploma in social/community development/project management.
* Basic training in accounting or finance or at least CPA II.
* Certificate in monitoring and evaluation.
* 3-4 years experience working directly with communities or in community based projects.
* Demonstrate proficiency/experience in project accounting /financial management.
* Ability to design, appraise, monitor and evaluate community social development projects.
* Excellent report writing skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office suite.

The person/profile:-
* Be at least 25 years of age.
