Area Manager, Public Health - Based in Nairobi

East Africa Regional Director based in KenyaAs our new Regional Director for East Africa, you will be responsible for customer support and growth in relation to our product line in the Region. Your main job responsibilities will include:
* Meet the region's budget goals for the entire product portfolio segment
* Responsible for the regional Profit and Loss of the business unit
* Create local regional business plans which are in alignment with the overall company's strategy
* Create and maintain strong relationships with new and existing stakeholders (for instance, Ministry of Health, NGOs, etc.)
* Ensure proper and regular reporting to the Executive Regional Director in Switzerland (HQ)
* Feedback relevant market information to the Executive Regional Director on a regular basis
* Lead a team of regional area managers through sales training, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development and evaluation. Responsible for assessment of staff skills' set and training needs
* Implement Vestergaard Frandsen's culture and values in the region * Minimum 5 to 8 years' experience in sales in Africa at management level. Pharmaceutical or Public health industry is an advantage
* Master level education (MBA or equivalent commercial diploma)
* Experience and knowledge of global public issues is an advantage
* Fluency in English. French is an added advantage
* Entrepreneurial mind-set, confident self-starter with competitive drive, initiative and decisiveness
* Able to quickly learn the technical background to our products and to discuss technical issues within the company's business area
* Strong sense of achievement: Undertakes and is result-oriented. Takes charge, shows self-motivation and ambition for personal and professional achievements. Has a competitive drive to get things done

* Prepared to travel to East African destinations and expected 4 yearly trips to Europe - minimum 100 travel days a year throughout Africa and sometimes to other global locations

The position is located in Nairobi in Kenya and reports to the Executive Regional Director in Switzerland.
