The Kenya Network for Dissemination of Agricultural Technologies (KENDAT) is a local NGO with a 20-Year old mission to empower smallholder farmers to sustainably improve their household in comes and livelihoods through innovative access to information, technology, means and markets.

KENDAT has innovative Conservation Agriculture Value-Chain programmes and agri-service development interventions actualised from Village Information Resource and Exchange Centre (VIREC) platforms.

KENDAT scope of development work is innovative in that it engages smallholder farmers in livelihood interventions that improve soil, water, power and market efficiency, while helping them gain respect and voice, in supported journeys from subsistence to business farming.

KENDAT is best known for her specialised work in renewable energy including animal and solar power utilisation for farm operations. The specialised Heshimu Punda Programme has focus on human behaviour change through animal welfare awareness and practice.

For 9 years, Brooke Hospital for Animals (UK) has sponsored practical community knowledge transfer efforts in donkey health & husbandry management, preventive care and even policy influencing interventions.

Administration & Communications OfficerKENDAT seeks to employ an Administration Officer with special qualities in web-based and other communication based skills and competencies in Nairobi. The winning candidate will provide and coordinate office and field administrative support for project staff and stakeholders. Lelchego Company Limited is a recently established farmer owned dairy company located in Kosirai division of Nandi North district with over 2,000 registered shareholders. Farmers have started bulking milk with the intention of chilling the milk beginning January 2011. The company plans to establish a business hub to effectively serve its farmers who are shareholders of the company. As part of its growth strategy, the company seeks to recruit the following staff to drive the business.

1. Cooling Plant Manager (1 post )
Reporting to management committee, the manager will be in charge of all cooling plant operations and will be an advisor to the Management Committee. S/he will supervise the performance of all staff members, develop work plans and ensure effective implementation, be accountable to procurement decisions and manage supplier relations.

The manager will be expected to steer growth, drive efficiency and ensure profitability of the cooling plant.

The right candidate should possess;
* A University degree in any business related field or a diploma in Co-operative Management, or any business related qualification. Candidates with accounting/ Finance, food and dairy technology qualifications will have an added advantage.
* 3 years experience in managing cooling plants or management experience in a related field.
* Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
* Drive, commitment and other entrepreneurial skills

2. Plant Accountant (1 post )
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the accountant will be responsible for the company’s accounting and finance operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards. He/she will process financial information, reconciliations, maintenance of the general ledgers, preparation of activity reports and accounts as well as processing of payments. He/she will also produce management accounts to support decision making by the management committee.

The right candidate should possess;
* CPA 2 or its equivalent
* A degree in Accounting/ Finance will be an added advantage.
* Be Computer literate and hands on accounting packages
* Excellent analytical skills
* High integrity
* Drive and commitment

3. Quality Control Officer (1 post )
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Control Officer will ensure that all the milk received and sold by the plant satisfies the pre-scribed quality requirements of the Dairy Plant and its customers. He/she will ensure that the appropriate tests on milk, water, chemical reagents etc are carried out and recorded. He/she will take note of the farmers whose milk has been rejected and advise the Plant Manager with the view to offering technical assistance to concerned farmers where necessary.

The right candidate should possess;
* Grade of C+ in Kenya Certificate of Education
* Diploma in Dairy Technology or equivalent
* 2 years experience in the dairy sector in the same position

4. Milk Graders ( 5 posts )
Reporting to the Plant Manager and working hand in hand with the Quality control Officer, the Milk Graders will ensure that all milk received and sold by the plant meets the prescribed standards of the Dairy Plant and its customers. He/she will ensure that the appropriate tests are carried out and recorded for the product and the inputs such as water on the assigned milk collection centers/routes.

The right candidate should possess;
o Grade of C- in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
o Certificate in Dairy Technology or equivalent
o One year experience in the dairy sector

5. Milk Recording Clerks (5 post )
Reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the Plant Accountant, the Milk Recording Clerks will record chronologically (as suppliers arrive) quantities of milk that has been through grading against the supplier number and accurately add up the daily tally amounts and present this information to the Plant Accountant.

The right candidate should possess;
o Grade of C- in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
o Training/experience in computers and data processing

6. Security Guards (3 posts)
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Security Guards will ensure that all external doors of the premises are locked securely as the staff leave premises at the end of each day and maintain patrols in the area surrounding the Dairy Plant premises and assets including those of management staff and partners e.g. Vehicles and will ensure he/she remains vigilant throughout the night. He/she will keep the gate and maintain records of vehicles entering and leaving the plant. Taking note and reporting any extraordinary happenings.

The right candidate should possess;
o Grade of D+ Kenya Certificate of Education
o Certificate of Good Conduct from Kenya Police
