Description of Scope of Work

We are looking for a Supply Planner who will be responsible for the follow-up of all orders placed on two projects (Loyangalani and Lake Turkana Projects) from the supplier order execution till the delivery of the equipment (according to order Incoterm) and the payment of the supplier. The person will have to strictly follow the procurement frame defined by the Procurement Project Manager and will be responsible for the good application of the order. The Supply Planner will insure the respect of the deadline scheduled and will be able to alert/escalate to management in case of delay. He/She will also have to insure that all instructions (packaging, Marking...) will be followed by supplier and will have to obtain all contractual documents according to specification defined before. Finally, the person will have to prepare for submission all documents requested by customer and follow/update according to comments to obtain customer approval.
The person needs to have a strong knowledge and an understanding on the way to handle supply chain processes, international logistic standards (incoterms.) and have to be organized, with good anticipation and project oriented. Knowledge in international trade could be an opportunity to extend the scope of work by being the back up of the export logistic coordinator.

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Roads established by the Kenya Roads Act, 2007 with the core mandate of management, development, rehabilitation and maintenance of all public roads in the cities and municipalities in Kenya except where those roads are national roads. As the leading Government Agency with the above mandate, we wish to competitively fill the above positions with suitably qualified Kenyans as follows:
Department: Planning and Environment
Reports to: Manager Transport Economics
 Undertaking a wide variety of urban planning exercises including road corridor use planning, socio-economic analysis, infrastructure and environmental planning;Preparing reports regarding the locations of different infrastructure, as well as population characteristics;Evaluation of proposals and recommend denial, approval or conditional approval, as well as make changes as necessary;Designing, promoting and administering KURA plans and policies affecting land use, zoning, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation;Assessing the feasibility of road proposals and identifying necessary changes;Creating, preparing, or requisitioning graphic and narrative reports on land use data, including land area maps overlaid with geographic variables such as population density;Researching and obtaining information regarding all applicable codes, and regulations which would affect the development of a site;Analyzing preliminary zoning reports and determining the requirements and timelines to permit process of road infrastructure development;Facilitating consultation with the government officials, land developers, lawyers, special interest groups, and the general public to develop or address issues regarding land use and road infrastructure development; andPerformance of any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.Appointment to this position will be made from persons who:Have a degree in Land Use, Urban planning or equivalent qualification;Have satisfactorily served in the grade of Senior Urban Planner in the Authority or a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like organizations for at least 3 years;Are registered and practicing urban planner;Have good communication and interpersonal skills; andHave working ICT knowledge for urban planning.Candidates who meet the set criteria should apply for the position(s) as well as download and fill the Job Application Form, attach their updated CVs, copies of certificates and testimonials and e-mail them to Jobs@kura.go.ke or post or hand deliver them so as to reach the under signed not later than 6th February, 2013.

Position: Demand and Supply Planner

The job holder will be responsible in providing an integrated set of demand and supply planning processes which will satisfy the customer service requirements derived from final demand plans, while optimizing the total logistics cost and resources of the company for import/export and domestic in the assigned product categories. In addition they will assist Business unit on all Supply Chain related areas.
