Engineering Manager Recruitment In Kenya.

Our client is a lead manufacturer and marketer in the highly competitive nutritional foods
segment of the FMCG sector. The company products are manufactured to international
standards and are distributed throughout the East Africa region and beyond. Since its inception
over ten years ago, the company has made great strides towards the attainment of operational
excellence; this has included the implementation of a robust ERP system, upgrading of
manufacturing equipment and the implementation of internal quality management standards.
There are also plans to commission a new plant in the near future.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a member of the senior management team and
take charge of the efficiency of the current plant. Key areas of focus will be:
Effective maintenance which may entail a review of the current maintenance plan and
ensuring its effective implementation, defining equipment performance criteria, reviewing
its performance and making upgrade recommendations;
Procurement of plant and equipment;
Spare parts management including storage;
Management of the maintenance crew including, recruitment, training and development;
Management of third party service providers as some maintenance aspects are outsourced;
Budgeting and budgetary control for the department; and Management of health, safety and
the environment (HSE).
Working closely with the Production Manager, you will be involved in the installation of the
new plant.

REQUIREMENTS
You will be a mechanical engineering graduate with experience of working in both an
automated and semi-automated plant; an electrical and or electronics engineer with similar
experience will also be considered.

You will have at least five (5) years experience in maintenance management gained in
manufacturing, preferably food production.

Experience of managing projects, HSE and a maintenance team will be essential.

Also essential is experience in maintenance planning and execution, budgeting and
budgetary control and spare parts management.
