Kenyatta University is looking to recruit qualified and dedicated applicants for vacant positions in the following offices:Directorate of Catering Services
 Bachelors Degree / Higher National Diploma in Institutional Management or related field from a recognized institutionAt least five (5) years experience, three (3) of which as Senior Catering Officer / Hotels Officer Grade E/F in a large organization preferably in an institution of higher learning or in a hospitality industryKenyan citizenMasters Degree in the relevant area will be an added advantageOther attributes:

Diverse sales and management experience and a willingness to improveAbility to create new and maximize existing accounts by analyzing the University needsProduce results in a fast paced environment by adapting and implementing new strategiesTeam oriented leader who motivates members to exceed expectationsDemonstrate outstanding professional competence and administrative ability in the management of food serviceManaging the food and beverage provision for functions and eventsOrganizing, leading and motivating the catering teamEnsuring health and safety regulations are strictly observedBudgeting and establishing financial targets and forecastsMonitoring the quality of products and the service providedMaintaining stock levels and ordering new supplies as requiredNegotiating contracts with customers, assessing their requirements and ensuring they are satisfied with the service deliveredMaximizing sales and meeting profit and financial expectationsKeeping abreast of trends and developments in the industry, such as menus, trends in consumer tastes and management issuesManagement of large team of workersFor those applying for teaching positions above Tutorial Fellow they will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms.
The terms of service for non teaching positions include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance. Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance - based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.
