The Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) is a statutory body charged with economic and service regulation of the water services sector.
WASREB sets rules, standards and guidelines to ensure that water services are provided in an effective and efficient manner with a view to protecting consumer interests.To strengthen our management team, we wish to recruit highly motivated professional to fill the vacancy below:
Reporting to the Director – Consumer and Public Affairs, your primary responsibility will be to engage various stakeholders to facilitate effective customer management in the water services sector in line with Wasreb’s role of consumer protection.Monitor compliance to customer management procedures by water service institutionsCoordinate and supervise activities of Water Action Groups (WAG), a citizen engagement mechanism established to promote engagement with consumers to foster transparency and accountability in the sectorGather, collate and disseminate information to create awareness on the role of regulation, and on water issues generallyProduce a variety of institutional literature including newsletters, reports, and other publications to share information water issuesEngage the mass media, social media, and other relevant channels to create awareness on regulation and on water issues generallyManage institutional events including stakeholder forums, shows and exhibitions, and other community relations activitiesUndertake liaison activities with key state agencies, water services providers and stakeholders in the water services sub sector.A Bachelors Degree in social sciences, with a Post-Graduate qualification in Mass CommunicationA minimum of 3 years working experience in a communications, public relations, or customer service function in a dynamic organization. Your application should include samples of your work.Good interpersonal skills, impeccable oral and written communication skillsExperience in community mobilization and use of communication tools for development will be an advantage.The position is Permanent and Pensionable
