It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles.
The ICRC’s Regional Delegation in Nairobi co-ordinates the institution’s humanitarian activities in Kenya, Tanzania and Djibouti. It also runs regional specialist units that provide support and expertise to the ICRC’s delegations in East Africa, the Great Lakes region and the Horn of Africa.
The Regional Delegation in Nairobi is seeking for an experienced and highly motivated person to fill the position of;
Driver
The ICRC Regional Delegation in Nairobi is seeking for an experienced and highly motivated person to fill the above mentioned position to be based in Nairobi.
Driver Responsibilities:
Drive the ICRC vehicles safely to any required destinations;
Ensure that vehicles driven have spare wheels and tools allocated to them;
Correct use of log-books for vehicles allocated;
Morning check-up of oil, water, tyre pressure and fuel on all vehicles allocated to them;
Contribute to the analysis of the security situation and incidents in the area;
Assist in translation when necessary;
Assist in any task depending on the situation.
Requirements for the Driver Kenyan Job:
K.C.S.E Certificate or equivalent;
BCE driving license with a clean record;
Fluency in English and Kiswahili;
Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage;
Certificate of good conduct;
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position;
Age bracket (24 – 45 years).
The Profile:
Good communication skills, willingness to work irregular schedule, able to work independently and in a team and ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
