This role reports to the Group Human Resources Director
Context/Scope: EABL is the only vertically integrated beverage business in Diageo Africa (supply and demand for beer, spirits and soft drinks and also includes Maltings facilities). It covers the Eastern Africa region (primarily Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, but also Rwanda, Southern Sudan, Burundi and Eastern DRC) with a growing exports business into the UK, USA & Australia. It is also the second largest listed Company on the NSE (as well as being listed in Uganda & Tanzania). EABL currently operates 5 breweries, 2 spirits facilities, a glass factory and barley & malting facility. With a strong portfolio of global & local brands, EABL is the market leader or a strong number 2 across its regional markets. This role works closely with the HRD, HR Business Partners, other Specialist areas of HR and business leaders to ensure that all employees are working to releasing their potential and that the business has the right talent in the right place at the right time in the right roles to deliver the business strategy in a sustainable manner.
Purpose of role: The role will lead and co-ordinate the development and execution of the people strategies, organization, and capability and talent agenda for EABL, specifically:
The embedding of the business OD principles, operating structures and ways of working to drive organizational efficiencies and performance goals.
Lead the culture transformation programme and change management agenda across EABL.
Champion leadership and functional capability development programs to ensure the business is developing the capabilities to guarantee the business strategy with the right people and capabilities.
Lead the development and execution of strategic talent plans in line with Multi Year Talent Plans (MYTP) for the respective business units and functions, in liaison with the market HR Directors to ensure that talent is available and ready to meet the market growth needs.
Embed MYTP processes including talent forecasting, succession planning, capability roadmaps, career pathing and effective resourcing in partnership with the wider HR teams.
Aggregate annual talent reviews and calibration in EABL.
Accountable for coordinating the EABL employee communication and engagement agenda, to ensure consistent messaging and communications across EABL in alignment with Market and in service of driving the employee engagement agenda.
Market Complexity: EABL operates across a multi-cultural and multinational, environment. The Group comprises 8 primary trading entities/ Business Units, each with its own organisation structure. Each business unit also has its own talent complexities with levels of competence, both in leadership and functionally at different levels. Externally, the business environment is challenging – each country has different external talent challenges, reward differentiators, external talent competitors with traditional sectors as well as new emerging sectors competing for talent.

Qualification & Experience:
Degree level with strong academic record
HR Professional qualification preferred
6-8 years of proven track record in HR, with in-depth experience in talent & OE management/ HR Generalist background
Working in a multi/above market environment would be an added advantage
Experience and knowledge of leading edge Talent & OE practices and thought leadership
Self-starter with high levels of energy & commitment
