BlumeAfrica Ltd is working in close partnership with a rapidly expanding bakery who require a General Manager. 

They are based in Nairobi with several branches within the country. They focus on maintaining good customer service and supply of quality products. 

 

Position Overview: Oversee all areas of the company’s operations, provide leadership in new product development and provide direction in procurement, administration and human resource management. 

Working closely with a large team, the incumbent is expected to fully understand the production process and the dynamics that go into making the company successful. 

Focus on maintaining team synergy to ensure that the production process is flawless will form a large part of the job.
 

General Manager Key Responsibilities
 

1.  Business Development, Sales and Marketing

• Development of efficient and cost-effective marketing strategies   


• Market the company’s products   


• Deliver sales to agreed targets   

2.  Customer Development

• Continuous market research


• Marketing to potential and existing customers


• Secure new customers and expand business


• Build Operational framework for customer service


• Manage team development to meet customer needs and in line with business growth

3. Financial Management

• Budgeting and Forecasting


• Financial Control

4. Operations

• Manage all operations relating to customer fulfillment and service


• Manage procurement, marketing and sales operations

5. Team Management

• Develop and motivate staff   

Requirements

• MUST have worked in the hotel industry


• Relevant business degree with a strong commercial and marketing background or


• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior management position in a busy operation.


• Proven positive work ethic, great customer skills, exceptional leadership and the ability to lead from the front and demand for results.


• Open minded and easily adapts to change and new ideas.


• Ability to engage at all levels in the society, business and organizations  


• Excellent relationship building with exceptional interpersonal skills and street SMART.
