Systems Developer / Programmer
3 Positions
Reporting to Head of ICT Projects, the successful candidates will be responsible for developing, enhancing and delivering system solutions to support business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret stakeholder requirements and provide technical advice & guidance to IT and business users.
- Evaluate and use appropriate system technologies in order to develop and provide required solutions to support the business.
- Document general and/or technical specifications for system development requests ensuring they adhere to minimum technical standards as defined by the IT Management Team.
- Ensure the integrity and viability of data held within information management systems is not compromised by developments.
- Resolve Service/Support calls effectively and within the framework of the service level agreements to improve efficiency
- Update business stakeholders and managers on progress when working on developments; identifying any issues, risks or slippages with the work being undertaken.
- Follows approved life-cycle methodologies, create design documents, and develop business logic utilizing approved technology framework.
- Develop and conduct program tests, develop test plans and data, perform or oversee testing to verify that the programs function correctly and ensure that modifications have not caused errors in other parts of the program and interfacing systems.
- Resolve technical issues through debugging, research and investigation.
- Review and analyze programs to gain a detailed understanding of the implementation of the underlying business functions.
Position Requirements:
- University degree in computer science or related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in software development.
- A good understanding of Banking Systems and Environment.
- Experience in coding including Java Programming & Net Programming
- Good understanding of WebSphere Application Server & J2EE
- Self-motivated, team player and results oriented individual
