Vacancy: Communication & Environment Attachee

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, writing and managing communication activities 


• Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories


• Assist in managing the editorial and event calendar


• Design flyers, graphics, e-vites and other communication material


• Update the organization’s website regularly


• Create comprehensive database of targeted businesses and regional media


• Collaborate with other functions on new ideas, directions, and tools for communications


• Prepare weekly reports and maintain regular contact with supervisor


• Monitoring social media platforms

Qualifications:

• Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space.


• Completed or working towards a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., Communications or Public Relations)


• Previous internship or related experience in communications a plus


• Understanding of the basic principles of public relations and/or communications


• Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel).


• Knowledge of HTML, website content management and graphic design a plus


• Posses excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts


• Ability to work well independently, and within a team.
