Underwriting Manager Job Responsibilities
Delivering quality underwriting through our multiple business channels in Kenya
Review and underwrite files to the investors underwriting guidelines
Communicate directly with personnel to resolve the stipulations
Assist other team members with files, which exceed approval guidelines and exceptions
Operations execution
Coaching and training
Budget management
Customer service
Business development
Work with executive team in developing guidance and training for all Underwriters
Develops internal policies and procedures to create strong focus on customer service and file accuracy.Generates weekly reporting to track progress toward departmental goals and continued focus on performance improvement.
Required Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of consumer credit reports and ability to analyze creditworthiness
Thorough knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within underwriting field
Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with deadlines; Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction.
Ability to interpret and apply required policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
Sharp and keen eye for detail
Education And/Or Experience for Underwriting Manager Jobs in Kenya
The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in finance or accounting
Minimum of 10+years of underwriting experience, including 5 years of managerial experience. The position should be able to work with minimal supervision.
