Under the supervision of the “Rehabilitation Technical Team Leader” and in close collaboration with the “Rehabilitation Technical Coordinator”, the hospital physiotherapist officer will be responsible to provide high quality physiotherapy treatment to in-patients in camps hospitals. He/she will contribute, in close collaboration with the two “rehabilitation trainers”, to mentor the clinical practice training (hands-on) of student rehabilitation worker refugees regarding the hospital approach. He/she will contribute to build the capacity of the medical staff and patient’s families on preventive rehabilitative measures.1. Providing high quality physiotherapy treatment for in-patients byIntroducing the physiotherapy services to the hospital director and agreeing on approach and way forward for effective added value of physiotherapy in hospital.Participating actively in the daily ward round with the medical teams and contributing to identifying patients in need of physiotherapy.Providing high quality in-patient physiotherapy treatment according to the defined protocols.2. Contributing, in close collaboration with the two “Rehabilitation Trainers”, to the training and mentorship for clinical practice (“hands-on”) of “Rehabilitation Workers” trainee’s regarding the hospital approach.Coordinating closely with the two “rehabilitation trainers” and ensuring compliance with training timeframe and objectives.Providing regular hands-on training, demonstrating and mentoring rehabilitation workers, trainees on in-patients physiotherapy in hospital and carrying out regular case study.Monitoring and evaluating the clinical practice skills of the rehabilitation workers and reporting regularly the learning progress of the trainees to the two trainers.3. Contributing to building the capacity of the medical staff and patient’s family on basic rehabilitation for prevention of complications.Communicating with the focal person of health partners and organizing, in the frame work of their continuous education program, regular sensitization and information sessions on prevention of complications and basic rehabilitation measures.Preparing the content, material and tools for sensitization sessionsProviding sensitization sessions on prevention measures to the staff of the hospitalQualifications and skills required

Position : Child Protection Project Manager Responsible to:- Field Coordinator

From the 1st of November, HI has launched the Ubuntu care project with the ultimate goal to end violence against children through social cohesion. This multi- countries project (Burundi, Rwanda,
Kenya) aims to address the root causes and to mitigate the consequences of violence against children, especially those with disabilities. The strategy is to translate effectively the international commitments in regard of children’s rights, in particular the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) into practical actions on the ground through improved response mechanisms to Sexual and gender based violence against children at all levels. This project will engage with children and empower them as key stakeholders in their own protection, through a Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) approach. This involves empowering children, their families and community regardless of gender, or type of disability, through: raising awareness, promoting inclusion, skills development, eliminating stigma, and facilitating access to health, education and legal opportunities.
The Project Manager will be in charge of the implementation of the Kenyan part of the project.
1. Overall management of the project byBeing in charge of the implementation of the project following the project cycle management steps in close collaboration with the partners, the local authorities and Government of Kenya line Ministries.Developing project annual plan and monitoring the indicators according to the monitoring tools in collaboration with the coordinators (technical and operational).Co-ordinating technical support to the local partners by ensuring adherence to partnership agreements.Representing HI and the child protection (Ubuntu care) project in meetings, conferences and seminars and sharing feedback to benefit the project.2. It operates as a federation made up of a network of associations that provide it with human and financial resources, manage its projects and implement its actions and social mission. The Kenya Somaliland Program is one of the most complex programs within Handicap International, with 6 sites covering 2 countries. Historically, the program has developed several innovative thematic (HIV, GBV, Post Violence Management) and benefits from a large range of competences & technical resources. In 2011 HI opened alongside the development program, an emergency response project in Dadaab. This has further added to the size of the program in Kenya and has increased its complexity with regards to the management of the programs human resources and support services.

Objectives of the Post: 

Under the authority of the Program Director, and in full coordination with the HQ support services and field teams, the CSS will have the responsibility to lead, manage and ensure efficient results from the program support services: HR, finances, Administration and Logistic and ensure that HI’s standards are established and followed.

The CSS will establish a new framework for the support services by solving current challenges, implementing the basic rules & procedures of HI and succeeding to reinitiate the managerial, financial, administration and logistic capacities of the program.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the successful financial management of the program: 

Lead the revision and enhancement of the financial team and capacities of the program, including internal & external audits Guarantee the implementation of the Finance Action Plan defined to reinitiate financial management capacities of the program Supervise the work done by the financial manager and his team Coordinate with the financial manager for the full revision of the financial policy of the program Revise and implement the procedure and systems to comply with donors’ expectations and rules Develop budget tools in accordance with HI procedures and implement training policy for all sites and admin Improve the control on finance managementEnsure the administrative and logistics management of the program: Lead the revision and enhancement of the administrative and logistic capacities of the program Guarantee the implementation of the Admin & log Action Plan defined to reinitiate operational capacities of the program Supervise the work done by the administrative and logistic teams Coordinate with the logistics manager and support of the headquarter the full revision, implementation and training of HI logistic policies for the programEnsure the Human Resource administrative management of the program: Participate and support the reorganization of the program team Lead the revision and optimization of the support services chart Guarantee the implementation of the HR Action Plan defined to reinitiate HR management capacities of the program Supervise the work done by the HR manager and her team Coordinate with the HR Manager for the full revision of the HR policy and implementation harmonized with SomaliaGuarantee the implementation and follow up of the actions plans defined for the crisis.
