Principle Responsibility & Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Pastry Chef, the holder of this position will be in charge of creating / preparing/ producing/ baking breads, rolls, breakfast pastries and desserts according to standard recipies, in order to contribute the overall guest satisfaction.

Essential Functions:
* Prepares/ produces/ bakes all breakfast pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for restaurants and banquets. Decorates pastries/cakes with creativity and skill.
* Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration of same.
* Ensures spoilage/ waste are kept to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.
* Lines up baked products on mobile trolley according to the needs of the particular outlet/ function.
* Set daily pars on all products to ensure freshness.
* Assists in the professional development of apprentices and bakers.

Qualification Standards:
* Diploma in Pastry/ bakery from a recognized institution.
* At least 2 years pastry/ bakery experience.
* Knowledge about the facilities of the Hilton Hotels worldwide and Hilton Nairobi in particular will be an added advantage.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Skilled in Preparing/ producing and decorating pastries and cakes.
* Knowledge in Knife handling, pastry & baked goods.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* A team player adaptable to a multicultural and multiracial working environment.
* Ability to communicate with different kinds of people, with a positive attitude towards team and guests.
