Role Purpose Statement:



Implement, enforce and coordinate security systems and procedures at all airports networkwide to ensure safe and secure environment for business operations.


 


Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:



a) Develop and ensure implementation of systems and procedures for the security of aircraft both during overnight stay and turn around to ensure nil incidents of illegal access into the aircraft.



b) Develop and ensure implementation of procedures and processes to ensure no illegal or prohibited items are carried on board KQ flights networkwide.



c) Develop and ensure implementation of procedures and processes to ensure security of passengers and their baggage onboard KQ flights.



d) Develop and ensure implementation of procedures and processes to ensure security of premises,property and personnel in KQ off airport facilities.



e) Implement effective coordination of passenger ramp and cargo warehouse security operations to ensure nil security lapses/incidents.



f) Maintain cordial and effective liaison with both internal and external stakeholders in managing hub security issues.



g) Continuously assess risks and threats to hub security operations and implement mitigating action.



h) Coordinate gathering of intelligence on acts of unlawful interference against passenger operations and analyze collect data and initiate counter measures.



i) Ensure speedy preliminary investigation on all reported incidents and onward forwarding to Investigation Team.



j) Ensure compliance with IATA ground operations and safety standards, Kenya Civil Aviation Regulations and other relevant regulatory requirements.



k) Ensure security inspection and tests are regularly conducted to ensure that passenger and baggage security standards are adhered to.



l) Ensure routine monitoring of safety and quality management of critical activities and ensure ongoing conformity to safety standards.



m) Prepare, monitor and control the security budget for areas that fall under him to ensure effective cost control.



n) Ensure effective coordination between Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Cargo Ramp security staff for maximum output.



o) Ensure effective management of operational security staff HR issues in relation to trainings, leave and performance review.



p) Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of security/office equipment to achieve cost effective operations.



q) Ensure that the company meets its contract obligation with regards to customer airlines being provided with security services by Kenya Airways.


 


Knowledge, Skills, Experience:



a) Advanced university degree or relevant professional qualification



b) Degree or Diploma (equivalent) in security related field



c) Leadership skills



d) Knowledge of Criminal Procedure, Penal Code and Evidence Act



e) 7 years relevant experience 5 of which must be in Security Management position



f) IT proficiency



g) Excellent communication



h) Interpersonal skill

Update fund records for accuracy, decision making and reporting to the Board of Trustees



  • Updating and maintaining Members’ Account (Account balancing and maintaining records)

  • Computing Members’ Benefits and withholding tax

  • Facilitating the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements /accounts and administration reports

  • Filing of all statutory reports, payments of levies and taxes to the regulatory bodies.

  • Updating individual data on date of birth, date of employment, joining the fund beneficiaries and contacts.

  • Arranging and keeping minutes for office weekly and monthly meetings   


 



Qualifications


 



  • Graduate Degree in an Accounting Field or related business degree from a reputable university

  • CPA II or equivalent

  • 2 years experience in pensions/provident fund administration or closely related working environment

  • Knowledge of RBA Rules & Regulations and KRA laws on retirement benefits schemes

  • Computer Literate  

  • High integrity and confidentiality

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines with minimum supervision

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

d) Ensure availability of cargo terminal access passes at all times.



e) Ensure full implementation of cargo security SLAs by cargo handlers.



f) Maintain cordial and effective liaison with both internal and external stakeholders in managing cargo security issues.

Provident Fund Administrator Job at Kenya Airways


The role holder is responsible for day to day administration of the affairs of the s Kenya Airways provident fund scheme in accordance with the provisions of the Act, scheme trust deed and rules and its amendments, any other relevant legislation in force and all other legal documents related to the scheme.


Responsibilities



  • Carry out daily administration of the affairs of the scheme in accordance with the provisions of the Act, scheme trust deed and rules and its amendments, any other relevant legislation in force and all other legal documents related to the scheme;

  • Maintains pension scheme records and ensures compliance with local regulations

  • Ensure remittance of monthly contributions by the sponsor to the custodian in accordance with the regulations made under the Retirement Benefits Act, 1997;

  • Liaise with the trustees, Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) the Department responsible for collecting domestic taxes and the scheme service providers (Fund Managers, Custodian, Auditors) in the course of administration of the scheme;

  • Avail the required data of the scheme to the service providers to enable preparation of statutory returns to the regulatory bodies;

  • Submit or cause to be submitted required statutory returns to the regulatory bodies;

  • Compute and pay benefits to the members and their beneficiaries directly as provided for in the law and the scheme rules;

  • Prepare the scheme budgets, cash flows and liquidity requirements as may from time to time be required;

  • Offer secretarial services to the Board of Trustees by organizing meetings, issuing notices for the same and taking minutes during the meetings;

  • Advise the trustees to ensure that the manager is investing the scheme funds in compliance with the provisions of the Act, the Regulations, scheme trust deed and rules and other relevant legislation in force;

  • Organize and call annual general or special meetings, take minutes and keep record of those meetings; and

  • Offer advisory and training services to the trustees, members and the Sponsor on their rights and obligations in the scheme.


Qualifications



  • Must have a Bachelors degree preferably in any of the following specialization actuarial science, insurance, law, accounting, economics, banking, finance, investment.

  • Must have CPA(K) OR ACCA.

  • Certification in Pension Management is an added advantage

  • Must have a minimum of Five experience years in matters relating directly to pensions and administration of schemes. Fund accounting or pricing experience useful

  • Proactive, determined and willing to take responsibility and ownership of tasks assigned

  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet internal and external deadlines in a high volume, deadline-driven environment

  • Analytically minded with strong problem solving, negotiation and communication skills Experience of managing a team and change

  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external clients

  • Proven leadership skills and experience in investment

  • Intermediate MS Office applications knowledge
