Our client, a well established Agri-services Company that offers farmers’ laboratory, precision agriculture and farm advisory services is looking to recruit a highly specialized Senior Plant Pathologist. He/she MUST have prior experience working in a plant pathology/ nematology laboratory in agriculture for past 5 years.Must have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, plant pathology, bio chemicals or relevant industry.Must have a minimum 5 years experience in plant pathology.Must have knowledge and experience of Nematology in a lab environment.Experience in plant parasitic nematode identification.Experience in ELISA and PCR diagnostic techniques.At least 4 years experience in crop disease identification in a laboratory environment.Experience in providing recommendations in soil & crop disease management.Good knowledge of soil microbiology.Personal Attributes:

A Manufacturing Plant is looking for two high caliber and motivated persons to fill the post of Production SupervisorsJob Purpose: The Production Supervisor is responsible for general supervision of assigned phases of plant production operations. Responsibilities also include assigning team leaders and workers duties, ensuring job rotations of workers for succession planning, ensuring adherence to Company policy on quality, managing leave of his juniors, ensuring staff discipline and training of personnel in liaison with the Production Manager and the Human Capital Manager, facility/physical plant up-keep and upholding of high safety and health standards. In addition the Production Supervisor will be responsible to achieve reduce costs of reworks and achieve set production targets.
 
Scope: Incumbent covers supervision of the Manufacturing floor and achievement of production targets
Production Supervisor Job Duties:

KCSEED foundation is a community owned foundation based at Keringet Location of Kuresoi District in Kenya. Keringet Community Social Economic and Environmental Development Programme is an initiative of the KCSEED foundation modeled on Global Management Approach (GMA) where community members start by mapping the available resources and asking themselves what they can do to effectively and efficiently use the resources for community member’s health and prosperity. The 5 year programme commenced in April 2012. 
The programme is funded by Gorta. Job Title: Milk Chilling Plant Quality Supervisor

Main Purpose: To drive and manage the raw milk supply, chilling and dispatch logistics and quality control services of Keringet Milk Chilling Plant.

Job Outline: The job holder will be responsible and accountable for all raw milk collection logistics and quality control activities of Keringet Milk Chilling Plant. 

The jobholder will work under the supervision of the chilling plant manager and will be based at KCSEED Kimalany office 2 kilometers from Keringet town along Keringet Molo tarmac road. S/he will directly supervise milk graders based at several milk collection centres(MCC). S/he will partner with KCSEED programme manager, food and economic security officer and other key partners in the dairy and livestock production industry.

Reporting to: Milk Chilling Plant Manager

The jobholder will be responsible for the following activities:

Procurement, quality control, chilling and dispatch of Raw Milk

S/he will ensure that all milk received and sold by the plant satisfies the prescribed quality requirements of the Dairy plant and its customers.S/he will be in charge of all cooling plant and field quality operations and management, and will be an advisor to the Management Committee on milk quality issues.Responsible for organization quality management; planning, mobilizing and organizing resources, leading the chilling plant quality team, controlling quality enhancing facilities and equipment, and coordinating and controlling quality issues.Will supervise the performance of all the quality staff members, develop work plans and oversee their implementation, be accountable for quality decisions related to milk procurement and supplier.Development and implementation of milk quality policy, strategies, work plan, budget for the organization including providing technical assistance and training of staff and farmers on milk quality issues.Documentation of milk procurement and quality processes in KCSEED Milk chilling plant including preparation of periodic milk procurement and quality reports to be submitted to the board.Advice the chilling plant Manage and milk collection clerks on milk quality issues and conduct farmer/ field visits on periodic basis or in case there are milk quality problems which need his/her attention.S/he ensures maintenance of proper hygiene standards at the chilling plant and ensure the quality of milk in the coolers is not compromised. Design and manage raw milk collection logistics right from the farmer to milk processor.Manage the milk chilling process and transfer logistics between the chilling plant and milk processor and ensure milk dispatch documentation and delivery notes issued by chilling plant to accompany milk dispatch and the receipts received from processor to acknowledge receipt of the milk are reconciled daily.Organize and lead milk supplier mobilization and registration meetingsPlan raw milk marketing and sales activities and review results and expectations with Quality supervisor.Ensure the milk supplier’s database is updated daily and statements delivered to suppliers on a daily basis.Ensure milk supplier’s payroll is prepared and money is wired to milk suppliers accounts on time.Establish daily raw milk supply targets for individual milk grading clerks and jointly develop plans to achieve them.Prepare and deliver (and where necessary, present) to the persons designated by the GM, timely and accurate reports in accordance with the formats given.Be responsible for setting periodic targets within the business plan, in conjunctions with the GM, and directing the business to achieve, or supersede, those targets.Facilitate and provide all known information to assist in internal and external audits as ordered by the GM.3. Total Customer SatisfactionThe Chilling plant Manager provides quality services to milk suppliers and provides quality products to milk processors.Establish a feedback mechanism that positively and quickly responds to milk suppliers and processors concerns.4. Staff Supervision Training and DevelopmentThe chilling plant manager will be ultimately responsible for the performance of all chilling plant staff hence S/he will participate in supervision of all chilling plant staff as well as in making hiring and termination recommendations.Developing and communicating chilling plant goals and results to chilling plant employees in liaison with the General ManagerDevelop and review budgets and work plans with chilling plant supervisor monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearlyDetermining workloads and schedules, assigning chilling plant employee responsibilities and maintaining job descriptionsUndertake employee performance reviews.Organizing and holding regular employee meetings5. Effective Business ManagementBe responsible for ensuring profitability and growth of the Dairy plant and making timely decisions and actions to facilitate this.The manager executes the chilling plant business plans (key elements include: fiscal responsibilities, manpower planning and marketing).Be responsible for planning, supervising and control of the resources of the plant including: staff, equipment, facilities, finances, stocks, etc. Ensure that efficiency and sustainability are achieved wherever possibleBuilding and maintaining positive relationships with community members, government departments and other collaborators, shareholders, suppliers, customers, and the general business communityEnsure that plants` operations and status are within the safeguard of the law and ensure that all licenses are in place.Implement and ensure all contracts between the plant and other business partners, i.e. milk processing contracts are up to date.8.
