Lutheran World Federation/Department for World Service Kenya/Djibouti program is seeking to recruit Kenyan nationals for the following positions to be based in Dadaab Refugee Camp
Duties and responsibilities to include the following among others:-Undertake security assessments to safeguard LWF/DWS staff, premises and properties, make recommendations and ensure that staff compliance to the security protocols and SOPs.Identify security equipment needs, prepare and update training modules with Capacity Building Officer for personal security awareness for all staff and any other security related trainings.Prepare and review regularly all the compounds security plans/SOPs and improve when deem necessary for simplicity in adherence purposes.Provide frequent advisories to staff and management on all matters relating to security and general current affairs/situations.Prepare correspondence/reports/evaluations and analysis with justifications on general security matters affecting staff and the way forward in mitigating them.Cultivate and utilize local knowledge and contacts to identify potential security problems and take initiative to address the same with a brief to management and staff if appropriate.Treat all matters relating to staff security as strictly confidential. Maintain an updated staff list and other related key personnel contacts in the area of operation.Provide significant Incident Reports (SIRs) for security incidences affecting staff and organizational properties and make recommendations for management to act on the same.Ensure that the private security firm provides required quality services to the organization both to the staff and the organisational Assets by ensuring that all LWF compounds are habitable.Be contactable 24 hours aday for 7 days a week.Handle effectively and efficiently all tasks given by the supervisor in a transparent and accountable manner.Professional Qualifications, experience & skillsUniversity degree in Criminology, Disaster Management or any relevant social science field.At least 5 years of progressive experience in Security management, preferably has served in a security agency.Strong analytical, problem solving and quick response in humanitarian contexts.Experience in promoting peace, safety and security within a community and/or between neighboring communities.Knowledge in Community Policing approach in enhancing collective community action for safety and security.Strong representation, negotiation and coordination skills gained from working with UN , national and INGOs.Experience of humanitarian principles, SPHERE and UNHCR standards and field security protocols and procedures.Experience in conducting trainings, facilitation and capacity buildingAbility to work under pressure, tight deadlines and adverse climateHigh level of confidentiality, integrity, commitment and professional responsibility.Ability to tolerate cultural, educational and religious diversity in the work place.Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills.Skills in data collection/analysis, donor report writing; verbal and written communication skills in English and KiswahiliBeing an accountability project, the person desired is one with high integritySpecial Needs Education Teachers

Manager, Special Projects

The incumbent will provide high level prudent day to day oversight of financial management policies, procedures and practices.

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer and against a backdrop of internal system realignment for enhanced financial performance, cost effectiveness, reporting and accountability, you will be required to:

Clinical Practice Educator (Intensive Care Unit)

The Clinical Practice Educator will be responsible for imparting knowledge and skills that are needed by nurses to meet the care needs of all categories of patients at the Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi.

The incumbent will work with the nurses to enhance their clinical competencies and implement nursing quality assurance protocols.

Applicants should be Registered Nurses (KRN/M; KRCHN) with current licensure with the Nursing Council of Kenya.

A Baccalaureate degree (BScN) and/or other formal post-basic preparation in clinical teaching and specific area(s) of clinical practice and Certification in ALSO, EPLS and ACLS will be an added advantage.

S/he should be proficient in Microsoft office packages.

The successful candidate(s) should have a minimum of five (5) years clinical nursing experience in an acute care teaching hospital and a minimum of two (2) years continuous experience in a busy nursing unit.
