Project Coordinator
Based in Makindu
Purpose:
“The Project Coordinator’s core function is to coordinate the implementation and management of the Watershed Approach to Enhancing Resilience Project, to accompany the partners, in developing appropriate institutional and organizational frameworks to ensure active participation by project and community members, and to promote transparency and accountability in the use of project resources.”
The role of the Project Coordinator is to ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with contractual obligations and meets the highest standard of implementation.
This position directly supervises four project staff, and provides technical supervision for three partner staff.
The Project Coordinator also coordinates and establishes and maintains a working structure to manage the partnerships and the inputs of the various stakeholders into the project implementation including the Ministries of Agriculture, Cooperatives, Livestock, Water and Irrigation and Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA).
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Knowledge and experience on the use of quick books accounting software.

1. Area Coordinator
The Area Coordinator (AC) will based in Dadaab and shall be responsible to and report directly to the Programs Coordinator in Nairobi for the carrying out of his/her duties.

Program Officer: LWF Humanitarian Emergency Team East & Central Africa
The LWF Humanitarian Emergency Team is based in Nairobi and responsible for implementation of the LWF emergency response strategy in Eastern and Central Africa.
The team will have core competences in regards to emergency response and scaling up of ongoing response, emergency preparedness, risk reduction and rapid assessment of emergencies. It is envisaged that more than 50% of the time will be spent outside Kenya.
The Programme Officer will, under the Team Leader, be responsible to plan, implement and scale up emergency response operations through various sectors including WASH, Shelter, Camp Management and Protection.
Liaise with partners, coordinate the LWF response with other actors and ensure that implementation is coordinated with the LWF country program in respective country (when applicable).
He/She is expected to play a leading role in the practical aspects of emergency response.
The Programme Officer shall have the capacity to assess/respond to emergencies in countries were the LWF already have a presence (scale up/start up under the oversight of the respective Country Representative), as well as capacity to assess/respond to emergencies in other countries in the region.
The incumbent will also be involved in training of staff on emergency preparedness and response, contingency planning and rapid assessments.

Regional Emergency Team Leader
He /She will responsible for the implementation of the LWF emergency response strategy in Eastern and Central Africa.

The Emergency Team Leader shall provide overall leadership to the LWF Regional Emergency Response Hub in Nairobi which, when fully established, will have up to five members of staffs.

He/ She promotes all aspects of the LWF Accountability Framework, including incorporation of HAP benchmarks and other accountability elements in all aspects of the emergency response, and adherence to the LWF Staff Code of Conduct regarding Abuse of Power and Sexual Exploitation.
The Emergency Team Leader provides support for planning, supervision, implementation, monitoring, documentation and administration of disaster preparedness activities in the region in accordance with the mandate of the Regional Emergency Response Hub and supports all LWF country programs in the region to establish emergency contingency plans and disaster-risk reduction
The Emergency Team Leader works cooperatively with the Action by Churches Together (ACT) alliance in the region, including participation in joint planning and implementation, and providing support when appropriate.
