* Manage the company fleet of tour vans and allocate duties to respective drivers accordingly
* Work closely with management in product development and marketing

Experience and Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree/ Diploma in Tour Operations or any other related business degree/diploma
* Tour background will be an added advantage
* Experience of 3-5 years
* Be smart and commercially aware
* Excellent communication, customer service and business relationship skills

icipe has approximately 300 staff to support its research and capacity building programmes, located at various sites in Kenya, Ethiopia and Sudan.

icipe requires the services of a young and dynamic Information and Communications Technology Manager to head its ICT Unit at the Centre. icipe’s infrastructure consists of a campus-wide LAN of CAT5e/CAT6, Fiber &Wireless Access Points, Cisco Routers, HP Switches, HP, DELL& Apple Servers and a Nortel telephone PABX.

They are operated by Microsoft windows servers &clients, Apple macintosh, Unix server, Microsoft Exchange 2007 e-mail system, Microsoft Office, a Helpdesk system, Financial & Administration systems and Intranet/ Extranet.

Requirements

The suitable candidate should have:

* A masters degree in computer Science or a related field
* Five years hands on management experience at a senior level in an ICT department/Unit
* Experience in managing a networking environment based on Microsoft server technologies (Windows server and Exchange Server)
* Should be knowledgeable in supporting heterogeneous network clients (Microsoft, Apple-Macintosh and UNIX/Linux)
* Should be knowledgeable in supporting Microsoft development technologies such as NET and SQL server 2000/2005.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at icipe’s Duduville and ITOC Mbita campuses.

Specifically he/she will develop and monitor the implementation of an appropriate ICT strategy that will support the current and future ICT needs of the Centre.

This will entail among other things:

* Formulating and implementing policy guidelines for the development and maintenance of ICT systems in conformity with the Centre’s overall policy.
* Developing or acquiring, installing and maintaining systems for various types of applications used in the Centre.
* Providing leadership and management of the ICT team.
* Developing and maintaining standards and advise on the procurement of ICT equipment
* Developing and managing the ICT Unit’s budget
* Providing leadership in the development of information and communication technology related projects.

1. Re-ordering of international imports and local orders in liaison with the Retail Manager and Asst. Operations Manager – Africa.
2. Liaison and follow up with Head Office and local suppliers for all orders placed.
3. Logistics planning in consultation with the Asst. Operations Manager.
4. Monitor stocks and pricing.
5. Monitor slow moving and dead stocks and strategize depletion with approval.
6. Coordinate with Retail Manager for controlled turnaround of stocks for increased cash flow.
7. Regulate procurement process.
8. Review requests from the Head office for markdowns, stock in/stock out and negative stock adjustment from commissary and/or warehouse before final approval.
9. Lead and organize regular scheduled perpetual stock take at the commissary and warehouse and ensure discrepancy reports are forwarded to you for review and report your findings to the senior management.
10. Communicate to Head Office for price queries, if any, from landed shipments and rectify/regularize the same in coordination with Operations and Accounts Departments.
11. File claims with suppliers through Head Office and follow up credit note and also notify excess receipts for receiving debit note to account for.
12. MIS reports to be generated on a monthly basis for stock controls and planning re-ordering for all locations.
13. Keep updating the pipeline and maintain location wise records of the same, in conjunction with location managers and Head Office.
