The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS. We are working in 15 countries around the world to provide HIV prevention, care, and treatment services for children, women, and families—with a mission to eliminate pediatric AIDS. EGPAF in Kenya is currently looking to recruit for the following 2 positions:
 1. Senior Awards and Compliance Officer 
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the senior awards and compliance officer will assess and enhance the prime award management of the country office(s).
She/he will be the technical specialist in all aspects of country office prime award management and will work to support the prime awards leadership teams of the entire country program.
In partnership with the Operations and Senior Management teams, the A &C Officer will assess and enhance the compliance of the country office(s) with Foundation’s global and country-specific policies and procedures, donor rules and regulations and host country laws.
The individual will identify compliance gaps, analyze the causes of gaps, and work with staff and management to build capacity, enhance general awareness of compliance issues, and assist with the development of action plans that address gaps and strengthen internal controls, systems, and procedures.
To succeed in this role, you require:Advanced university degree in relevant field of study (such as accounting or business).Minimum 8 years’ experience in at least one of the following areas: grants management, contract management, finance, accounting. Previous auditing and training experience are highly desirable.Experience with managing USG funding is required; experience with managing other major international donor funds and working with an international non-profit/non-governmental organization (NGO) preferred.The Data Officer will support the MAISHA project in overseeing the M&E portfolio and technical aspects (including mapping, database management, etc.) of all PMTCT, HIV prevention and care interventions across Nyanza Region in Kenya. S/he will develop a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation Plan and System for MAISHA Project. Will work closely with the ministry of health to enhance collection, analysis and utilization of quality district and provincial HIV related data. Lead the tracking progress of elimination of pediatric HIV in the project. Support M&E capacity building activities, including building technical capacity of health workers in collecting and collating data. Contribute to programme management through timely processing and dissemination of M&E findings and best practices to facilitate evidence-based planning, learning and programme decision-making. Undertake periodic review of the implementation and operation of the monitoring and reporting mechanism; including the preparation of best practices and lessons learned.
 To succeed in this role, you require:Diploma in Health Records. Counseling Support Services in a Health Survey
Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

Background A health survey of children and adults is being undertaken in Kenya and will include over 10,000 households. The survey will provide program managers and policy makers with the information needed to effectively plan and implement future health interventions and evaluate current health programs.

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is seeking the services of a reputable organization to provide counseling services for survey participants.

Specific Tasks

The organization to be hired will be required to undertake the following tasks in coordination with survey staff: 

Understand the operational components of the survey. Work with survey technical staff to develop the survey procedures for addressing cases where counseling services may be needed by survey participants during the conduct of the survey. Train survey field staff on the procedures for connecting survey participants to counseling services. Provide counseling support services as required by the survey participant and referrals to other services as needed. Document and report to survey technical staff on the counseling services provided to survey participants. Provide updates to survey field and technical staff as required.Must have at least 5 years experience in working with and counseling adults and children. Must have previous experience providing counseling services to adults and children in the context of a study or survey. Must have a network of trained, certified counselors stationed throughout the country, including the remote parts of Kenya. Must have trained, certified counselors who can provide counseling services in multiple vernacular languages.This is a short-term contract. The period of performance will be 120 days, during which support from the selected organization will be provided as required during this period of time. An extension in the period of performance may be requested should field activities for the survey be extended.Requirements for Application:

• Nutritionist

• District Coordinator – Community Liaison

Contract length: 3 months (Renewable)

Nutritionist

Reporting to the Project Officer, the Nutritionist will seek to improve the quality and impact of nutrition interventions, by providing additional technical support in the most affected districts in Nyanza.

The role

In collaboration with the District Nutritionist and stakeholders, you will develop a district nutrition plan.

You support the DNO in facilitating monthly nutrition coordination meeting with key stakeholders.

You will ensure that nutrition issues are adequately represented in district level coordination forum and that related nutrition interventions are linked with Health, Food/Agriculture, Water and Education sectors.

You will support DNOs to coordinate and monitor partners’ support to nutrition related interventions, including coverage of key interventions, performances of programs, supply/stock.

You will provide technical support to MOPHS and NGOs to effectively plan, monitor and implement nutrition interventions, including management of acute malnutrition, in order to reach planned targets.

You will compile monthly nutrition situation update, using all anthropometric and non-anthropometric related data sources as well as key factors influencing and/or likely to influence the nutrition situation.

You will support district level planning and development of concepts that aim to address causes of malnutrition and sustainable means to address them, also promoting coordination and collaboration among partners.

You will support district nutritional assessments (e.g. planning, training, supervision, analysis of data) and facilitate nutrition information sharing between district and national levels.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will require a minimum of Diploma in nutrition or public health coupled with minimum two years relevant nutrition experience. Awareness of community-based approaches to improving nutrition and food security and to design and deliver training activities in the nutrition sector is essential.

You will have experience in emergency nutrition and familiarity with latest developments in nutrition. Awareness of community-based approaches to improving nutrition and food security and able to work well with local authorities, communities and stakeholders is key.

District Coordinator – Community Liaison

Reporting to the Project Officer, the District Coordinator- Community Liaison provides technical expertise in designing and implementing interventions to sensitize and engage community, create community-facility linkages and implement psychosocial support activities.

The Role

You will provide on the job training to field officers , volunteers and MOH staff. You will ensure project activities comply with national guidelines and policies for HIV/AIDS and ART.

You will implement evidence-based techniques and strategies to ensure quality programming in adherence and psychosocial support. You will develop and distribute appropriate job aids and education materials.

You will work with communities to sensitize them on services available at facility level. You will facilitate partnership meetings.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will require a Public Health, Community health. Epidemiology, counseling or a health related field Diploma coupled with background in community development activities. HIV/AIDS knowledge and related experience in addition to experience in capacity building, such as planning and facilitating trainings and providing technical assistance is essential. Teaching and counseling skills and Willingness to travel are a prerequisite.

The Role

This is a senior management position reporting to the Country Director. The position builds teamwork and a collegial and integrated approach, fostering links between Operations and the programmatic functions.

You will provide strategic oversight and leadership to the country program Operations function, including overall vision and direction, and managing and contributing to the work of HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, Logistics, Administration, Contracts & Grants, and field offices.

Your duties will be wide ranging and extend from strategic business planning, performance management and development of key functions, leadership and mentoring of the operations leadership team, leading on budgets preparation, monitoring and reporting on expenditures and preparation and facilitating of audits and compliance reviews.

You will ensure that the country programme is supported by an efficient and effective operations platform, and that a strong culture of compliance is adopted in accordance with organisational / donor policies and procedures.

You will ensure that programme support functions are reviewed and improved where necessary, and that the operations function is adequately equipped to proactively support the growth and development of the country program.

You will influence innovative approaches to Operations management in order to achieve organisational effectiveness while remaining the primary point of contact for all operational
matters.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Kenyan national with a proven track record in operations leadership.

Along with an advanced degree in business administration, finance or any other relevant field, you will have a minimum of 8 years senior leadership experience in a similar role, preferably with a multi-national non-profit organization.

To be successful in this role you will have strong conceptual and analytical skills coupled with proven people management and communication skills. You will have proven strategic, planning and implementation ability.

You’ll have expert knowledge of the USG funding environment and experience working with other donors.

Overall Job Function:

The Deputy Country Director Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will work in a complementary fashion with the Country Director to effectively lead and manage the Kenya Country Program across all functions and areas.

She/he imparts a unified strategic vision and ensures that program activities lead to achievement of program goals and objectives in a timely fashion.

She/he will ensure effective operation of the Kenya management team by contributing to their work planning, performance management, and professional development. He / she establishes effective monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure the quality and effectiveness of programs.

S/he interacts productively and proactively with a wide variety of internal & external stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, FBOs, private sector groups, other collaborating agencies, CDC, USAID, UNICEF and other donor organizations.

The Deputy Country Director will lead the development and coordination of all project work plans and budgets, and contributes to the development of new business proposals. He / she oversees the entire country program in the CD’s absence.

Requirements:
