EGPAF in Kenya is currently looking to recruit for the following 3 positions for an anticipated CDC-funded project.
 1. Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
The M&E Officer will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of a comprehensive, efficient and effective system of monitoring, evaluation and learning for a 5-year project.
To succeed in this role you require:Familiarity with Ministry of Health and PEPFAR reporting systems.Experience with HIV/AIDS data collection and analysis for prevention, care, and treatment programs.Skills in conducting project evaluation, data quality assessments, and in organizational capacity development indicators and building capacity of local partners to utilize data for decision-making purposes to improve HIV programs are.A minimum of a relevant Master’s degree and at least 5 years professional experience in the responsibilities listed above are required.Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through training and mentoring.Familiarity with CDC preferred.2. Capacity-Building Coordinator
The Capacity Building Coordinator will be responsible for leading implementation of activities designed to strengthen organizational capacity of the Government of Kenya’s Disciplined Services to manage and implement HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. S/he will lead organizational capacity assessments, participate in the design, implementation and monitoring of the transition and capacity building plans, and s/he will work directly with government entities and locally-based organizations to facilitate the transition processes of PEPFAR funding to local partners.
To succeed in this role you require:5 - 8 years of experience in successful capacity building (preferably of public institutions).Minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field.Experience with program coordination and programmatic communications.Knowledge of Kenya Ministry of Health system.Experience with PEPFAR funded HIV programs; preferable with CDC.Fluency in English and excellent communications skills required.Experience in participatory processes in capacity building.Good facilitation skills.Strong interpersonal and representation skills.Demonstrated experience in development and refinement of assessment tools and training materials.3. HIV Service Delivery Advisor
This position will be responsible for leading capacity building efforts of Kenya’s Disciplined Services to provide comprehensive, integrated quality HIV prevention care, treatment and support services including HIV testing and counselling, PMTCT, and TB/HIV services.

1. Program Officer, Laboratory - Lodwar
Reporting to the Senior Technical Advisor, you will support establishment and expansion of quality laboratory services especially improved access to laboratory diagnosis and monitoring through CD4 testing, TB testing and Early Infant Diagnosis to support provision of quality integrated HIV prevention, HIV counselling and testing, care and treatment services within the Ministry of Health, Private and Faith Based Sector health facilities in Turkana County.
You will provide day to day contact with DMLT, DHMT, point of care laboratory technicians and technologists and Field officers based in districts and facility level – providing technical assistance and capacity building to establish, strengthen and expand a laboratory network. You will provide oversight to ensure that access to laboratory services is improved and maintained.

 Reporting to the Project Director, you will support the Maisha project in communication and education initiatives that build awareness towards elimination of pediatric HIV and keeping mothers alive as well as advocacy with key partners and stakeholders.
You will design, implement and evaluate communication, advocacy and outreach initiatives to support elimination of pediatric HIV, increase public awareness of and demand for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment services and create awareness among policy makers opinion leaders, the media, civil society organizations and the public about pediatric AIDS issues.
You will advocate for adoption of the eMTCT framework at various MOH level and among partners as well as for sustainability of actions towards elimination of pediatric HIV.

• Nutritionist

• District Coordinator – Community Liaison

Contract length: 3 months (Renewable)

Nutritionist

Reporting to the Project Officer, the Nutritionist will seek to improve the quality and impact of nutrition interventions, by providing additional technical support in the most affected districts in Nyanza.

The role

In collaboration with the District Nutritionist and stakeholders, you will develop a district nutrition plan.

You support the DNO in facilitating monthly nutrition coordination meeting with key stakeholders.

You will ensure that nutrition issues are adequately represented in district level coordination forum and that related nutrition interventions are linked with Health, Food/Agriculture, Water and Education sectors.

You will support DNOs to coordinate and monitor partners’ support to nutrition related interventions, including coverage of key interventions, performances of programs, supply/stock.

You will provide technical support to MOPHS and NGOs to effectively plan, monitor and implement nutrition interventions, including management of acute malnutrition, in order to reach planned targets.

You will compile monthly nutrition situation update, using all anthropometric and non-anthropometric related data sources as well as key factors influencing and/or likely to influence the nutrition situation.

You will support district level planning and development of concepts that aim to address causes of malnutrition and sustainable means to address them, also promoting coordination and collaboration among partners.

You will support district nutritional assessments (e.g. planning, training, supervision, analysis of data) and facilitate nutrition information sharing between district and national levels.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will require a minimum of Diploma in nutrition or public health coupled with minimum two years relevant nutrition experience. Awareness of community-based approaches to improving nutrition and food security and to design and deliver training activities in the nutrition sector is essential.

You will have experience in emergency nutrition and familiarity with latest developments in nutrition. Awareness of community-based approaches to improving nutrition and food security and able to work well with local authorities, communities and stakeholders is key.

District Coordinator – Community Liaison

Reporting to the Project Officer, the District Coordinator- Community Liaison provides technical expertise in designing and implementing interventions to sensitize and engage community, create community-facility linkages and implement psychosocial support activities.

The Role

You will provide on the job training to field officers , volunteers and MOH staff. You will ensure project activities comply with national guidelines and policies for HIV/AIDS and ART.

You will implement evidence-based techniques and strategies to ensure quality programming in adherence and psychosocial support. You will develop and distribute appropriate job aids and education materials.

You will work with communities to sensitize them on services available at facility level. You will facilitate partnership meetings.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will require a Public Health, Community health. Epidemiology, counseling or a health related field Diploma coupled with background in community development activities. HIV/AIDS knowledge and related experience in addition to experience in capacity building, such as planning and facilitating trainings and providing technical assistance is essential. Teaching and counseling skills and Willingness to travel are a prerequisite.

Study Coordinator

Located in Kisumu and reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Study Coordinator coordinates and administers research study associated activities. He /she assist in project planning, and ensure that pre-established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed.

The Role

You will coordinate the study activities of the different study teams to ensure smooth implementation of the study, including facilitation of effective communication .You will supervise the study team to assess compliance with protocol, and accuracy of data.

You will assist correspondence to regulatory agencies, such as the IRB to ensure that all regulatory requirements have been met.

You will ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of grant funded research projects; oversee the procurement and of equipment and supplies.

You will act as the primary administrative point of contact for internal research staff and as the principle operational liaison for other Ministry of Health Personnel and Community groups.

You will monitor the progress of research activities; develop and maintain records of research activities, and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators. You will assist
in analyzing and interpreting of data.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will require a minimum of 3 years proven work experience as a HIV Research Coordinator. A degree in Nursing or medicine is a pre requisite for this role. A diploma in Clinical Medicine with over 5 years experience in similar position may be considered. A Master Degree in Public Health is desirable. Familiarity with the local language is an added advantage

Data Manager

Located in Kisumu and reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Data Manager will support data management of the implementation Research.

The role

You will co-ordinate the collection of study data from sites. You will review, analyze, and validate clinical trial data to ensure consistency, integrity and accuracy based on project specific guidelines.

You will manage data collection at the study site, including reviewing Case Report Forms (CRFs) for completeness and accuracy.

You will perform quality checks on the data and liaise with health facilities in solving issues arising. You will review, analyze, and validate Research data to ensure consistency, integrity and accuracy based on project specific guidelines.

You will review and approve CRF design, data review ground rules and database design according to Standard Operating Procedures and protocol. You will develop and maintain documentation and data management guidelines.

The Person

To be successful in this role you will require at least 3 years experience in Research Data Management, project evaluation, and training on M&E designs, tools and methodologies. Experience in statistical packages e.g SPSS, EPI Info, STATA is essential.

A degree in Maths (statistics Major) or IT is a prerequisite for this role. Post graduate degree in Statistics or Public (statistics Major) is an added advantage. Willingness to travel within the project area is essential.

The Role

This is a senior management position reporting to the Country Director. The position builds teamwork and a collegial and integrated approach, fostering links between Operations and the programmatic functions.

You will provide strategic oversight and leadership to the country program Operations function, including overall vision and direction, and managing and contributing to the work of HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, Logistics, Administration, Contracts & Grants, and field offices.

Your duties will be wide ranging and extend from strategic business planning, performance management and development of key functions, leadership and mentoring of the operations leadership team, leading on budgets preparation, monitoring and reporting on expenditures and preparation and facilitating of audits and compliance reviews.

You will ensure that the country programme is supported by an efficient and effective operations platform, and that a strong culture of compliance is adopted in accordance with organisational / donor policies and procedures.

We are looking for a Kenyan national with a proven track record in operations leadership.

Along with an advanced degree in business administration, finance or any other relevant field, you will have a minimum of 8 years senior leadership experience in a similar role, preferably with a multi-national non-profit organization.

To be successful in this role you will have strong conceptual and analytical skills coupled with proven people management and communication skills. You will have proven strategic, planning and implementation ability.
