Member of the County Assembly Service Board
Article 176 (1) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 establishes a County Assembly for each County Government.
To enable effective carrying out of functions of a County Assembly, the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012 has established the County Assembly Service Board which shall be responsible for the following functions:providing services and facilities to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the County Assembly;constituting offices in the County Assembly Service and appointing and supervising office holders;preparing annual estimates of expenditure of the County Assembly Service and submitting them to the County Assembly for approval and exercising budgetary control over the service;undertaking, singly or jointly with other relevant organizations, programmes to promote the ideals of parliamentary democracy; and,performing other functions necessary for the well-being of the member and staff of the County Assembly or prescribed by national legislation.Section 12 of the Act further states that the County Assembly Service Board shall comprise the Speaker of the County Assembly as the chairperson, the Leader of the Majority Party, the Leader of the Minority Party and one person resident in the County, appointed by the County Assembly from among persons who have knowledge and experience in public affairs, but who is not a member of the County Assembly.

The Selection Panel for the Appointment of Member, National Gender and Equality CommissionApplications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill one vacancy of Member, National Gender and Equality Commission.(a) Hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
(b) Have knowledge and at least ten years’ experience in matters relating to any of the following fields-
(iv) Gender and Social development;
(c) Have had a distinguished career in their respective fields; and
(d) Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
 2. A person shall not be qualified for appointment as Member if such person:-
(a) is a member of Parliament;
(b) is a member of the governing body of a political party;
(c) is a member of a local authority;
(d) is an undischarged bankrupt; or
(e) has been removed from office for contravening the provisions of the Constitution or any other law.
 One six-year non-renewable term.
 (ii) Shall not hold any other office or employment for profit whether public or private; and
(iii) Remuneration and benefits will be as set by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.

Article 230 (2) (b) (ii) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Part II, Section 7 (1) of the Salaries and Remuneration Act 2011 requires the Public Service Commission of Kenya to nominate a person who shall be appointed to represent the Public Service Commission in the Salaries and Remuneration Commission as a member.

Established in 1995, Pragya is a non-governmental, development organization registered in the USA, UK and India, working with the poorest and most vulnerable communities of the most difficult areas in South Asia and East Africa.

The organization aims to deliver integrated and holistic development projects in the areas of education, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy, agriculture and water management, women and cultural heritage preservation.

The purpose of the Nairobi office is to represent Pragya within Kenya and internationally, carry out active and continual implementation of its projects, promoting its work and facilitating appropriate linkages.

We invite applications for the following position based in Nairobi:

Team Member, Programs Monitoring: PG in Rural Management/ Development Studies/ allied disciplines, with a minimum of two years’ experience in project coordination and monitoring. The position involves coordinating field offices, implementation planning, collating project achievements and preparing the plan – results gap statement.

The job involves travelling to the remote areas to implement project activities, as per the organisation’s needs. Please note that we will be able to communicate with only the shortlisted candidates during the selection process.
