Job Summary:

The successful candidates will be reporting to the Dean Humanities & Social Sciences. The candidate will be expected to teach, conduct research and engage in community service.

Key Responsibilities

Teach at undergraduate level in the areas of Policing or Forensics and in any other courses offered by the Criminal Justice Program.Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs are up-to-date and marketable.Participate in program assessment and reviews.Engage in research in one’s area of expertise.Engage in service to the University, the profession and to the community.Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience

Lecturer:

At least a Masters degree in Criminal Justice Studies or in a cognate discipline from a recognised UniversityAt least two (2) years of teaching experience in a University or equivalent institution of higher learningPeer reviewed (or refereed) publications (journal articles, book chapters etc) in one’s area of specialization will be an added advantage. In addition, applicants must also be prepared to pursue a Ph.D Degree in their area of specialization.

Teaching experience will be an added advantage.

The terms of service for the teaching posts of Lecturers and above include membership to a Pension Scheme, a generous Medical Scheme, a House Allowance and a Commuting Allowance.

Reporting to the Dean of Students, the successful candidate will perform the following duties:

i) Senior Librarian

Public Relations and Communications Officer

Qualifications and Experience:

Masters degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies or Journalism.3 years experience as a Public Relations and Communications Officer in an institution of higher learning.IT Savvy with a strong understanding of graphic design, social media, and web management.Working knowledge of mass and new media operations and its proper utilization for dissemination of information.Proven excellent editorial and writing skills.Strong planning, organizational skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills.Excellent presentation skills and having an outgoing personality.Ability to work with minimum supervision, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.Working experience with a PR/Advertising Agency will be an added advantage.Main duties and responsibilities:
