Job Title: Head, Information Technology
Job Purpose
Reporting to Assistant Director, Finance and Administration, the job holder will be responsible for providing strategic direction and advice with regard to ICT needs of the school.
A key part of this role is advising the school management on leveraging appropriate technology to offer efficient operational processes.
Head of IT Key Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and ensure the implementation of ICT strategies in line the school strategy
Develop accountability structures, supervise periodic reporting and projects and monitor performance indicators for ICT division.
Undertake the development and implementation of effective policies, procedures, systems and processes for systems administration and security; business applications and support network administration.
Ensure the division is adequately resourced by professional and competent personnel
Undertake the development of ICT plans in coordination with other divisions
Advise the school on the development and implementation of institutional systems; including ERP systems, campus management systems and support operational systems, hospitality systems, collaborative systems
Develop and coordinate the implementation of business continuity plans in line with the school’s strategy and operations
Undertake the contracting and management of ICT and related services providers
Undertake the development of user training programmes and materials; coordination of ICT training initiatives
Coordination the provision of timely ICT services to other divisions and the directorate
IT Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree and professional qualifications in ICT or related discipline
At least 5 years¿ experience in middle management position in a large public/private sector
Demonstrated track record in the delivery of ICT projects and services
Good knowledge of ICT equipment, devices, processes, software and hardware of the school is essential
Ability to work in large multi-disciplinary teams.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
A team player, possessing excellent communication, presentation, analytical, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
Should be open-minded and a change champion
Ability to think strategically with creative problem solving skills
Mature person with proven integrity, initiative & drive
Ability to make critical and timely decisions in a highly sensitive environment
