We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and result driven person to fill the following vacant position:-
Legal Officer
Ref: HR/LO/04/01/2015
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Company Secretary & Chief Manager Legal Affairs, the Legal Officer will offer legal advice and guidance to other management and organization as a whole.
Legal Officer Key Responsibilities
Draw contracts, agreements, leases and any other legal instruments that the company enters into with a third parties
Attend court hearings
Prepare witnesses and the evidence as well as presenting the same in court while keeping an updated record of all court cases
Collaborate and correspond with external advocates on all pending court cases
Attend to internal company queries of legal nature in the facilitation of normal business
Deputize the Company Secretary in the performance of company secretarial duties whenever called upon
Secretary to the Board of Directors in the absence of the Company secretary
The Legal Officer Specifications:
The candidate must possess the following qualifications:-
Bachelor’s degree in Law / Legal Studies from a recognised university
Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
Qualified Pubic Secretary (CPS –K)
5-6 years’ work experience as a Legal Officer in an organization preferably Government Parastatal
At least 3 years’ demonstrable experience at a supervisory level
Essential Skills
Excellent report writing skills
Demonstrable skills in handling litigation cases
Results oriented
Ability to develop self and others through coaching
