- Own the external auditors’ audit relationships across audits of the SSA entities. This includes driving compliance, optimal efficiency, timeliness & cost-worthiness of the external audits
As part of this objective, you will be expected to hold regular weekly meetings with the external auditors’ regional coordinating partners, to conclude fee discussions for SSA based audited entities, discuss how to make the audits more efficient and to provide guidance on the audit process to the local Statutory reporting teams
- Transition the “outlier” legal or management entities into having a rigorous external audit assessment process (especially important for recently acquired entities)
- Own the process around approval of discretionary audits in the region where required
- Have responsibility for the approval of any audit fee overruns in any business in GE Africa
- Drive the rollout of the new (2012) external auditor Management Letter Point process. Ensure that the results of this exercise are included in the overall consolidated risk matrix for SSA.
