The African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), a pan-African International Financial Institution, announces a vacancy for the position of Database Administrator at the Headquarters in Lagos, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
A. Main Duties / Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the direct responsibility of supporting the ICT Department with the planning, administration, installation, configuration and control of the database systems used by the Corporation and ensuring efficiency, integrity and security of the corporate technological environment. He shall report to the Director of Information Technology (DICT).
B. Detailed Duties/Responsibilities

Technical Competencies Required For This PositionOracle database core administration experienceOracle e-business Suite Application and database administration will be an added advantageExperience in Oracle web logic administrationExperience in SQL/SQL* Plus programming PL/SQL and stored procedures/packagesExperience in deployment in SOA suite, creation of Data sources, JMS destination, securing web servicesExperience in setup of High Availability architecture with clustering for Oracle Apps server and RAC for databasesExperience working with Oracle Enterprise ManagerExperience in performance tuning of Oracle 10g Application Server preferredE. Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Applicants not older than 40 years and should hold the following qualification:First University degree in relevant field (Computer Science/ Engineering) plus Masters plus 5 years post qualification relevant qualitative work experience in Data base Management;First University degree in relevant field (Computer Science/Engineering) plus full professional qualification plus 5 years post qualification relevant qualitative work experience in Data base Management;First University degree in relevant field (Computer Science/ Engineering) plus 9 years post qualification relevant qualitative work in Data base Management.F. Additional Requirements For Candidates For This Position:Nationals of member States of Africa Re;Additional professional qualification in Oracle Certified Professional (Database Administration) will be an added advantage.Bilingualism (English/French) would be an added advantage.Relevant work experience in a Reinsurance company, in the department of Reinsurance of an insurance company or in a reputable international organization would be an added advantage.
Salary and other conditions of service are competitive and comparative to what is obtainable in similar international organizations.

The role: Sales Engineer

Sales Engineers work with Google's Partner Development team to create and implement technical account strategies, develop innovative solutions and overcome technical obstacles to sign strategic partnership deals.

For this job, you'll bring extensive sales experience with large companies, a strong software development background and detailed knowledge of Internet and telecommunication technologies.

You also enjoy working with people and technology more than working with your head down in product development. As such, you have both the ability to interact with engineering teams as well as excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

This job requires travel about one-third of the time.

Responsibilities:

Training, troubleshooting and Google Apps deployment project management with partner universities.Perform implementation reviews, evangelize new product features, and ensure the prompt and proper resolution of technical challenges.Improve product feature offerings by providing partner feedback to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management and Engineering.Guarantee the technical aspects of a partner’s integration (both new and ongoing) by providing necessary documentation, training and technical guidance.Develop proof-of-concept products and software tools to assist in closing deals.BA/BS preferred in a technical field with a strong academic record.
