Job Title: Aircraft Reliability Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
- Determine adequacy of data being collected, data sources and records; accomplish all compilation and analysis of statistical data; prepare all programme reports and co-ordinate with various departments for data processing analysis, studies, reports, establishing alert Levels and recalculating Alert Levels.
- Reviewing and monitoring significant aircraft defects, recurring defects, dispatch reliability, MEL usage, M EL deviation and to high light trends and identify root cause
- Maintaining history of all aircraft recurring defect and component strip reports by ATA, including all investigations carried out to determine cause of defect and corrective action
- Identifying an recommending the necessary changes to the Maintenance System and/ or Company Procedures to improve overall dispatch reliability
- Reviewing strip records from manufacturers/vendors and providing history and document reports from reliability data and benchmark against industry standards
- Developing and administering the system of controlling recurring defect,
- Continuously reviewing engine oil consumption and identifying any abnormal trend.
- Perform the functions as required of him/her in accordance with the maintenance control manual
Qualifications / Requirements
- Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree/diploma. Aircraft maintenance engineers licence will be an added advantage
- Minimum 18 months in an engineering background
- Knowledge of commercial aircraft systems; as well as a comprehensive understanding of the Engineering & Maintenance requirements of aircraft.
- Experience in using computer based maintenance control programs
- Well-developed research, analytical, numerical, negotiation and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Conversant with the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer
- Have a keen interest in t rends within the airline and related industries.
- Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
- Willingness to work out of the country from time to time in bases that the company has operations
