Our client is one of the leading dental clinics in Kenya and seeks to hire qualified and experienced candidate in the role of Dental Technologist for immediate employment.


Responsibilities



  • Replaces partial or total loss of natural teeth by constructing partial or full dentures (metal and non-metal).

  • Restores natural teeth by fabricating crowns and bridges.

  • Corrects dental irregularities by manufacturing fixed or removable appliances.

  • Completes implantology procedures by fabricating prostheses to fit implants the dentist places directly into the patient’s jawbone.

  • Constructs prostheses by following the dentist’s prescription; making models of the mouth and teeth from impressions of the patient’s mouth taken by the dentist; building-up wax replicas of part or all of the mouth and/or teeth on the model; encasing the wax in a mould material and melting away the wax; replacing the wax with plastic, metal, or ceramic materials to make the replacement appliance; polishing and finishing the appliance prior to its being placed in the patient’s mouth by the dentist.

  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.

  • Other duties as may be allocated in line with this role.


Requirements



  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in the same capacity

  • At least Diploma in Dental Technology

  • Member of the relevant professional body

  • Customer oriented

  • Interpersonal skills.

Overall Responsibility


Reporting to the Radiology Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of effective Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services at the Hospital.


Qualifications



  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences.

  • Certificate or post graduate training in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

  • Must be registered and licensed by the Radiation Protection Board of Kenya.

  • Must have at least 5 years working experience 2 of which should be working experience on a 1.5 Tesla MRI Unit.

  • Excellent knowledge of techniques in general and specialized Radio diagnostics, Computed Tomography (CT) and Fluoroscopy.

  • Excellent computer skills in Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Attending mandatory CMEs, conferences, and trainings

  • Participating in departmental education activities.


Qualifications:



  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Pharmacy

  • At least 2 years working experience in a similar position, preferably in a busy hospital set up

  • Registered with the Pharmacy & Poisons Board

  • Experience with an online prescription system is a plus

  • S/he must demonstrate an understanding of quality initiatives not limited to JCIA and ISO

  • S/he should have strong leadership, people management, negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to build relationships and encourage consensus, partnering and networking at all levels.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills in the problem-solving process.

  • Ability to organize workload and identify priorities appropriately.

  • Ensure the accuracy of the label before dispensing for the right patient, right drug and right quantity, for effective service delivery.

  • Maintain and update personal drug knowledge data base to ensure the accurate provision of pharmaceutical care of general disease states as well as specialized knowledge in the assigned area of expertise.

  • Assisting in facilitating and act as a secretary in PTC meetings

  • Conduct training to Pharmacy staff in related to CPOE or any changes or updates.

  • Ensuring stocks adjustment forms are filled, signed and adjusted by finance in a timely manner.


Qualifications:



  • Certificate in Pharmacy

  • 5 years’ experience as a dispenser

  • Knowledge of the hospital management information system ( CARE 2000)

  • Computer literate, good communication skills

  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning and locally available drugs and their indications.

  • Ability to keep up with Continuous Pharmaceutical Developments and Continuous Medical Education programmes.

It provides general health care in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology as well as outpatient services.


The hospital has a Nursing School which is training Kenya Registered Community Health Nurses. Other units are the Guest House and a Cafeteria.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage the OPD / Emergency / Ward and assist the medical doctors

  • Accompany medical doctors/ consultants on IPD Ward rounds

  • In the absence of the Consultant – Pay timely visits to In – patients and treat the patients along the indicated line of treatment

  • Conduct medical procedures under supervision after getting the consent from the medical doctor.

  • Implementation of Quality protocols in patient care

  • Complete and correct documentation of patient files & records

  • Check and authorize all diagnostic requisition slips.

  • Ensure that emergency medicines are available in Pharmacy, ICU and IP Ward.

  • Monitor the Nursing care – Proper Medication, timely vitals recording etc

  • Inspect maintenance of the hospital while on Duty

  • Attend emergencies ensuring that the doctors are informed and proper consultation done for the best outcome.

  • Providing the information regarding the patient’s condition to his/her next of kin as per protocol

  • Check the diet chart, medicine chart, vitals chart frequently

  • Coordinate with all nursing/Paramedical & non-medical staff of the department to maintain a high standard of medical care to the patients.

  • Seek for necessary approval and pre-authorization as per hospital guidelines

  • Involve in cost optimization measures by management

  • Help management in sealing revenue leakages and pilferage

  • Discuss your discrepancies regarding any process gap, immediately with Medical admin and then to Hospital administrator to ensure smooth flow of operations

  • Perform other activities /duties assigned by Clinical officer In charge

Qualifications:



  • Higher Diploma or BSCI in Medical laboratory sciences

  • Registered and licensed by KMLTTB

  • Minimum of Six (6) years working experience as a laboratory Technologist

  • Minimum of Four (4) years working experience in Biochemistry.

  • High degree of administrative capability and good leadership skills

  • Ability to write and review SOPs

  • In-depth knowledge regarding hospital-wide quality initiatives ISO 15189 and JCIA will be an added advantage.

Who We Are:


The hospital was started in 1909 by the Church of Scotland. It is owned and governed by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa.   • Determine blood type for transfusions.

  • Conduct medical research and analyses.

  • Operates and maintains sophisticated instruments and equipment used in the division, is able to properly set up, calibrate, maintain, operate and shut down such instruments.

  • Maintains competence in Laboratory Information System that is crucial to the quality operations of the laboratory and patient care.

The British Red Cross is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Movement Cooperation Specialist – to project manage the National Society Development Initiative (NSDI) with the Somali Red Crescent and Movement partners. The successful candidate will be seconded by the British Red Cross into the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), working with the Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS) and ICRC, as well as several other Movement components. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.


Reporting to the ICRC Cooperation Coordinator, and under the leadership of the National Society Development Committee, the National Society Development Initiative Project Manager will be crucial to the success of this initiative. You will promote a Movement coordinated approach to the development of SRCS’ development initiatives.


Responsibilities



  • Working closely with the NSDI steering committee, lead on the Movement support to the National Society Organisational Development Initiative.

  • Provide and coordinate technical support including mobilising support from Movement partners, where appropriate.

  • Coordinate & monitor financial support for the NSDI.

  • Collate and disseminate lessons learnt from evaluations and reviews relating to this initiative on NS Development. Supporting organisational and NSD learning within the Movement


You will be educated to degree level with an excellent command of English and extensive experience within the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement. Experience working in Movement Cooperation and National Society/ Organisational development is essential. You will be experienced in relationship building & stakeholder management with the ability to work closely with management teams throughout Movement partners. You will be required to work with a high level of autonomy and be available to deputise for the Cooperation Coordinator when required.


The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. They take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. They are an independent and neutral organisation, and their mandate stems from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. ICRC work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. ICRC direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.


ICRC field constraints



  • In line with the principle of neutrality, the ICRC does not assign personnel to a country of which they are nationals

  • Candidates must be in good health and will have to do a medical check-up prior to departure in the field

  • Candidates must possess a driving licence (for manual transmission vehicles) with regular practice

  • Candidates must be prepared to accept unaccompanied postings (i.e. no spouse, partner, children or dependents) for the first two missions (preferably 12 months each) or total of 24 months
