SOS Children’s Villages Kenya is an affiliate of SOS CV- International whose mission is to build families for children in need, help them shape their own futures and share in the development of their communities. In Kenya, the organisation runs five Children’s Villages in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Meru and Kisumu and an Emergency Relief Program in Marsabit. SOS Children’s Villages Kenya provides infrastructure in terms of education and health and families strengthening programs for families living in the local communities.
We seek to recruit for the position of an Internal Auditor and Human Resource and Administration Manager
 Internal Auditor is responsible for reviewing, documenting and establishing effective accounting and operational controls of the Organization’s administrative and programmatic activities. S/he will be in charge of investigations, review of records, reports, financial statements and management practices to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, donor requirements and Organization’s Standard Operating Procedures.Investigate and Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of the Associations systems on quality internal control.Carry out planned auditing activities in the various functions and projects to ensure adherence to policies, regulations and procedures.Conducts comprehensive investigations and prepare quality and timely reports containing observations and recommendations.Ensure the reliability and integrity of financial and operating systems and the means used to identify measure, classify and report such information.Ensure that there are proper systems established by management for compliance with the Association’s policies, plans, procedures, rules and regulations. That the Association conforms to the Laws of the Country.Review the means of safeguarding assets and, as appropriate, verify the existence of such assets.Analyze the economic situation in the country and the efficiency with which resources are used.Evaluate program operations to ascertain whether results are consistent with established objectives and goals and whether the programs are being carried out as planned.Bachelor’s degree in financial management with CPA (K). Master’s degree in Business Management (finance) shall be an added advantage.Must be computer literate with ability to work with computerized Audit Techniques and Accounting / Financial applications.Well-developed analytical skills, knowledge of risk management and internal audit standards will be essential.Over 8 years public accounting experience with an accounting firm providing audit and accounting services in the NGO sectorAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionWillingness and ability to travel.Human Resource and Administration Manager
The Human Resources & Administration Manager provides personnel expertise and support on Organisation Development to the National Association. S/he assists and advises on staff recruitment, orientation, training and development, appraisal, compensation,
discipline, etc. In addition, s/he ensures all projects comply with established policies, procedures and guides the development of the Human Resources function ensuring that organisational objectives are supported, and personnel policies remain relevant.Provide expert HR Management advice and information.Ensure that all the organisation’s HR policies and practices remain legally compliant while developing, formulating and implementing HR procedures.Plan and advice on staffing needs, oversee the recruitment process including selection, appointments, orientation & deployment.Support capacity building and career development of all staff through compilation and implementation of annual HRD Plans.Administer staff welfare and benefits policiesEnsure completeness and safe custody of personnel records for staff countrywide.Manage all administrative queries for all facilities as required.Support in assets and materials procurement and management processes.Management of staff medical insurance and general asset insuranceManage the organisation fleet of vehicles.Provide support in legal matters as required.Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences and diploma in HRM, Master’s Degree in HRM shall be an added advantage.Sound knowledge of recruitment, selection and separation procedures as well as the labour laws.Highly developed communication skills; both written and spoken.Ability to undertake personal task planning with proven ability to work independently, thinking clearly and acting ably while under pressure.5 years working experience in a multi-cultural NGO environment in a HR field at the management level with practical experience in HR strategic planning.Ability to support Administrative activities and processes at a managerial levelWell-developed computing skills especially MS suite of office and HR software.Willingness and ability to travel.To apply for this position, please submit your application letters enclosing a detailed current CV, current and expected remuneration package, copies of academic & professional certificates, telephone contacts and details of at least 3 referees to reach us by 12 July 2012, addressed to:

SOS Children’s Villages International is a social development organization whose primary goal is to offer orphaned, abandoned, neglected and destitute children throughout the world, - regardless of their religion, nationality or creed - a permanent home.

SOS is a private, non-political and non-denominational organization that offers effective alternative foster care around the world.

Apart from SOS Children’s Villages we also operate ancillary projects worldwide, including Kindergartens, Schools, Social Centres and Medical Centres which also serve the communities surrounding the SOS Children’s Villages.

The East Africa region comprises of the following National Associations: Ethiopia, Burundi, Rwanda, Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Somalia and Somaliland.

Position Summary

The Regional Institutional Partnership Coordinator works closely with National Associations in the East Africa region to develop and support local institutional donor cooperation (grants and partnerships with multilaterals, bi-lateral aid agencies, governments, and foundations).

The RIPC provides necessary support in the implementation of activities financed by local institutional donors, interpretation of donor policies and in developing capacities.

The RIPC must pro-actively seek to raise awareness about the work of the organization; attract and retain new public/institutional donors, and protect the brand and image of SOS Children’s Villages.

General aim:

Guide and support National Associations(NAs) in retaining, servicing and expanding partnerships while exploring and building new partnerships with donor agencies and institutions (governmental and non-governmental), in countries across the region in order to significantly diversify and augment the funding resources available to support the organization’s programs.

Key Performance Areas and Main Responsibilities:

Work with international, continental & national counterparts to develop and implement a comprehensive institutional funding strategy and plans for the region, including identifying, cultivating and soliciting institutional funding support in line with the continental and international IPD strategy.
In conjunction with NAs, develop proposals, provide quality checks on reporting and keep track of deadlines for all locally-secured IPD activities to ensure donor servicing meets required level of professionalism.
Identify funding opportunities within the region and install as well as maintain a market monitoring mechanism aligned with and complementary to continental processes.Work together with NA stakeholders in initiating contacts and forging partnerships with institutional donors, representing the organisation’s aims and objectives.
Support NAs in preparing high level funding proposals that meet donor requirements.
Provide technical and coordination support to individual application/ funding processes according to needs.
Monitor and assess the quality of donor reporting by NAs making sure that donor requirements are met also during the project implementation phase.
Where appropriate and relevant develop and maintain good relationships with donors at regional level through ensuring regular communication, knowledge exchange and effective reporting.
Provide the CO and IO with relevant information for the continental as well as global IPD strategy and plans.
Develop the capacity of local staff with a view to understanding the development cooperation and humanitarian aid fields, including donor politics and policies as well as solid understanding of “international development” concepts and perspectives;
Train local staff in Project Cycle Management and Logical Framework Approach (LFA) and other relevant tools of the Institutional Partnership Practical Guide.
Provide support to the supervisor to ensure all PSA-funded IP projects are in order.Degree in community development or relevant field.
3 to 5 years’ experience in programming, management, and institutional donor relations.Team player with ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Networking skills.

SOS Children's Villages Kenya wishes to recruit a suitably-qualified person to take up the position of Deputy National Director to be based at the National Office in Nairobi, Kenya and reporting to the National Director.

Position summary

The Deputy National Director/Head of Programs supports the National Director in the implementation of SOS CVs Programs, development of new program and the implementation of quality assurance systems within the framework of the SOS Children's Village Programmes QM Approach, including management of the Emergency Relief Programs.

The DND/HP provides support in successfully managing technical, programmatic and contractual obligations of the program department with overall responsibility for the development of all new programs, preparation of proposals, monitoring and evaluation and preparation of timely reports to donors.

He/She is responsible for Coordinating the development and review of SOS Children's Villages Kenya strategic plan with a key role in capacity development of program staff.

Key Tasks and responsibilities

Co-leads the strategic and annual planning process of the National Association and provide support to SOS CV programs in the preparation of operational plansLead processes of national child rights situation analyses and feasibility studies.Oversee all activities within the National Association ensuring it operate in accordance with the organisation's statutes, policies and procedures.Development of new program locations and alignment of existing locations following the SOS CV Program Policy.Implementation of the Quality Assurance system (including monitoring and evaluation) as described in manuals and policies of SOS.Coordination of all research activities in the program development area and cooperation with governmental and non-governmental organizations carrying out research on child and family care.Participating in and/or initiating national initiatives aiming at improving conditions and changing policies and practices that undermine the well-being and rights of children. Established in 1949, SOS Children's Villages is a dynamic social development organisation working globally to meet the needs and protect the interests and rights of orphaned and vulnerable children.

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation that provides support and guidance to SOS member associations in over 132 countries worldwide. Working throughout Africa and the Middle East (AFME), SOS Children’s Villages is in the process of recruiting a new External Communications Advisor, for the Continental Office AFME.

Working on a full time basis and based in Nairobi/Kenya, he/she will establish external communication systems for rapid and efficient sharing of information across the continent, particularly from countries within AFME to the Promoting/Supporting Associations (PSAs).

The External Communications Advisor will work closely with the Continental Office and the Regional Offices and report directly to the International Head of External Communications, based in Innsbruck/Austria.

We seek to recruit a Village Director to manage SOS Children’s Villages Kisumu. S/he should be able to lead the facility Independently and according to SOS Children’s Villages standards on Child care and good management.
