Position summary and introduction: APHIAplus IMARISHA is an AMREF Kenya - led USAID-funded integrated health program in the Northern Arid Lands Region, implemented by five consortium partners.  

The program operates in 8 counties of Turkana, Isiolo, Samburu, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Tana River. BroadReach Healthcare works with other consortium members to strengthen and expand high quality integrated HIV care and treatment, MNCH and Nutrition services and Continuous Quality Improvement in the public and private sectors, as well as to coordinate, track and implement innovations for improving health outcomes.

The company has particular expertise in the management and scale-up of HIV/AIDS treatment programs in Africa.   BRHC is recruiting for a Senior Program Officer (SPO)-Care and Treatment to be based in Samburu County. The key role for the position is to provide leadership and technical support and mentorship of health care workers in both public and private health facilities as well as county health personnel to ensure provision of expanded high quality integrated HIV care and treatment, TB, MNCH and Nutrition services and Continuous Quality Improvement.

Key Responsibilities

PATH's Kenya Country Program has an openinig for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisor in Nyanza province  who will provide strategic support and technical leadership to the Nyanza M&E team of the APHIAplus Zone 1 Project. S/he will oversee the development, management and implementation of the project's M&E plan and provide technical assistance to build capacity of the project stakeholders in Nyanza on health management and community based information systems. S/he will oversee the operations, analysis, visualization and reporting for a Management Information System for the project. In addition, s/he will ensure that reliable and high quality data is collected, analyzed and disseminated to all users including project staff. S/he will lead the Nyanza M&E team and other project implementation teams to carry out monitoring in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, analysis, reporting of project activities and outputs, and that data is used for decision-making. S/he will attend M&E forums in Nyanza province and keep pace with developments in the health and community information systems at national level. The position will based in Kisumu
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Implementing the projects Performance Management Plan and ensuring that all indicators are routinely updated.
* Support all data systems within the project, health facilities and community to ensure optimal functionality.
* Provide technical expertise in project evaluation methodology and design.
* Provide guidance and a mechanism to ensure quality assurance is maintained at all levels of programmatic work and particularly at results level.
* Contribute to the development/review of the project's performance indicators.
* Develop protocols, instruments (e.g. questionnaires, checklists, discussion guides and interview forms) for data collection, storage and analysis.
* Contribute to gathering of information, analysis, report writing, feedback and technical editing of quarterly and annual results.
* Plan for and oversee the development, maintenance and training of M&E team and sub grantees on the project databases (and Management Information Systems).
* Conduct data analysis and design and oversee special studies that support project management and document project performance.
* Participate in APHIAplus project's M&E Working Group.
Required Skills

* Ability to initiate, establish and maintain liaison activities with the major multilateral and bilateral stakeholders.
* Excellent negotiation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of directing and managing change, inspiring teamwork, and motivating staff and partners to achieve results.
* Critical analysis and strong report writing skills.

Required Experience

* Master's of Science in Biostatistics. Information Systems Management, Monitoring and Evaluation or comparable degree.
* Ten  years of work experience in  Health and Management Information Systems (HMIS) and monitoring and evaluation of public health programs.
* Experience in the design, management, analysis and dissemination of a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research projects.
* Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files.
* Knowledge of and experience working successfully with large, international, multi-donor health grantees.
* Familiar with GIS as a User Interface and reporting format with analytical software.
* Knowledge of USAID reporting requirements preferred.

Job Purpose: To support the Health Ministries in strengthening the health information system.

PATH Kenya Country program is seeking to recruit a Senior Grants Officer to work in the APHIAplus Western Kenya project. The Senior Grants Officer will be responsible for the effective management of the grants function and ensure timely and accurate reporting on grants expenditures to both internal and external stakeholders. He/She will oversee the review of budgets with Community Based Organizations ( CBOs), prepare sub-agreements for the CBOs and supervise the grants officers. Specific responsibilities include:

Lead in the pre-funding capacity assessment of the potential grantees and provide follow up training to build their skills.

Manage the receiving and reviewing proposals/grant applications to assess compliance with relevant guidelines and carrying out technical reviews.

Manage the selection of grantees for award including design of selection criteria for sub-grantees and conducting pre-award assessments.
*
Oversee reviewing and finalizing budgets with the CBOs, preparation of contracts/agreements for the CBOs and the follow up on compliance.
*
Regularly check the grantees' financial reports for accuracy, accountability and compliance with USAID requirements in accordance with their own established procedures.

Design and implement systems and procedures that meet PATH standards to ensure effective internal controls and minimize risks.
*
Supervise the grants team in strengthening the financial and grant management, monitor grant control and implement improvements to the system as necessary.
*
Participate in the close out of the partner organizations and ensure that all the partners submit their final financial reports as per donor rules and regulations.
Required Skills

Must have vast experience in OVC and Home Based Care, WASH and School Health Interventions.  Knowledge and experience in the implementation of various hygiene approaches/models e.g. SAFE, CLTS, PHASE, PHAST and PEC are essential.  Must be experienced in the implementation of Community Health Strategy and school health policy guidelines.  The person must be experienced in project management, operations research, monitoring and evaluation and designing and conducting community based trainings.  In addition the ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, team player and possess the ability to work under minimum supervision.

The Project is being implemented by FHI360 together with partners including AMREF Kenya, Liverpool VCT, Care and Treatment (LVCT), the National Organization for Peer Educators (NOPE), and Gold Star Kenya.

AMREF Kenya is the strategic partner responsible for the rollout and coordination of Community Strategy whose overall goal is to enhance community access to health care in order to improve individual productivity and health while reducing poverty, hunger, child and maternal deaths.

We are looking for an individual, who is well organized, highly motivated and results oriented to join a dynamic team and help bring lasting health change in Africa to fill the position of Project Manager.

The position is based in Nakuru and reports to the HIV/AIDS & TB Programme Manager.

Purpose of the Job:

To provide managerial guidance and technical leadership in the implementation of the project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:Provide overall leadership and project management through co-ordination and supervision in the implementation of project activities.Manage project resources including staff, finances and assets.Provide effective leadership in engaging with stakeholders, including consortium partners and external stakeholders.Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate project activities including writing technical reports for donors as well as for internal purposes.Facilitate capacity building activities for the project implementation team and other stakeholders.Lead in operations research, document and share results for advocacy in order to influence relevant policies and practices.Work with project staff to document and disseminate best practices and lessons learnt.Develop and promote partnerships and networking with relevant stakeholders including, but not limited to, partners, donors, relevant Government of Kenya Ministries and NGOs.Ensure project integration and growth by participating in Country Office and program meetings.Participate in the development of new concepts and proposals for fundraising.Represent AMREF in partners and collaborators consultative meetings.Qualifications and Competencies:

The ideal candidate should have a Masters Degree in Public Health or relevant Social Sciences with at least five (5) years relevant work experience.  

Must have vast experience in implementation of HIV/AIDS programs and Community Health Strategy.  The person must be experienced in project management, operations research and have knowledge of monitoring and evaluation and advocacy.  In addition s/he should have good experience in community mobilization and networking at local and national levels.  The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, team player and have visionary leadership.

Data Manager - APHIAPLUS NALs

The Data Manager will work closely with Provincial and District Ministry of Health (MOH) Records Clerks providing technical assistance, training and support for data collection, analysis, dissemination, and use at all levels of health service delivery.

He/she will assist facility based health workers and community-based groups to develop and maintain a system that facilitates use of data and information for their day-to-day functions, track progress, benchmark services, and better understand the value and meaning of the data they collect.

Applicants will possess a degree in Statistics / Health Statistics with at least two years experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of public health programs. Knowledge of HIV/AIDS monitoring and familiarity with the PEPFAR indicators is required. This position will be based in Garissa.

Job Purpose: The Project Manager will be responsible for Social Determinants of Health in the APHIAplus, consortium Zone 3, Rift Valley.

S/he will serve as key technical link person in the consortium and have the triple roles of managing relations between the strategic partners, implementing partners (IPs) and the GOK as they work hand in hand with the project officers to ensure APHIAplus Service Delivery to marginalized, vulnerable and underserved populations including youth, PLHAs and those on ARVs, orphans and children affected by AIDS.

The Project Manager form a core consortium technical team responsible for project implementation strategies, routine support supervision, data quality assessment, research and policy adherence. As a sub-awardee under the USAID-funded APHIAplus program led by JHPIEGO, Land O’Lakes is seeking applications for a Livelihoods and Food Security Coordinator to support activities to improve the livelihoods of marginalized, poor and underserved populations, including people living with HIV (PLHIV) in Central and Eastern Provinces of Kenya.

The Livelihoods and Food Security Coordinator will be based in Embu, as part of the JHPIEGO team, and will be responsible for supporting HIV affected households to engage in activities to improve household income and food security in a variety of agricultural and other value chains.

The Coordinator will:

Provide technical direction, leadership and training to consortium partners in livelihoods, income generation and food security programming;Conduct value chain analyses to identify market opportunities and private sector linkages suited to target beneficiaries;Provide target beneficiaries with opportunities to participate in entrepreneurship and vocational and job-readiness training as well value-chain and other market-based opportunities by coordinating and linking with other programs and implementers conducting economic, agricultural, and nutrition development programs;Develop and implement strategies to build the capacity of local partners, government, and households to provide economic strengthening support to target beneficiaries;Conduct and/or facilitate training in business development skills, market assessments, financial management and group savings and lending; andEstablish and foster good relations with NGOs, community-based organizations, and government partners.Required Qualifications/Experience:
