Salary: £800-£1,000 per month depending upon experience.

Main Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of the job is to provide effective Sales and Marketing support to units within the region which include Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique. 

The successful candidate shall implement Marketing actions within the region in liaison with both Vimto international and the local Vimto licensee.

Main responsibilities

Create, foster and develop relationships with both the local licensee and other partners including distributors and wholesalers within the region.Define and execute brand strategies that support and contribute to growth in both the short term and long termProvide feedback to Vimto international on monthly sales and performance figures, stock levels and product availability.Analyse the results of marketing actions and initiate changes that may be required to improve sales performance.Develop and maintain a range of external contacts that can result in  improved product performanceDevelop and communicate an understanding of consumers to generate new insights that can inform strategyMonitor and report on local trends to fuel future innovation and make informed forecasts; Evaluate and communicate budgetary implications of these forecastsUniversity level education Marketing, Communication or business related field. Postgraduate qualification would be an advantage. Professional Marketing/ Communication accreditation is preferredSuccessful and proven experience in Sales and Marketing of beverages/ FMCGpreferably with regional exposure.Knowledge of Market data analysis, finance (P&L, sales forecasts), local wholesale and retail dynamics,  and Targeted/ channel communicationCommercial relationships and team building skills with the ability to work both as part of a team and on individual assignmentsProven innovation,  resourcefulness and self-motivationFluency in both written and spoken Swahili and EnglishComputer and office tools literacy is requiredHolder of CIM (must)Resident/ willing to reside in Nairobi with frequent and extended trips within the region. Responsible for executing processes within Corporate VAT/GST Operations as directed by manager.

Reporting to the VAT/GST Operations Manager for the Sub-Sahara region, this position will:

- Deliver VAT/GST reporting and related services to GE businesses

- Ensure that all VAT/GST returns and associated statistical filings for client businesses are filed and paid on time

- Complete a program of risk-based reviews of business VAT/GST returns and associated processes to ensure accuracy of filings

- Analysis of VAT/GST documents for accuracy using thorough and in-depth knowledge of VAT/GST regulations

- Provide support during inspections and queries from local tax authorities

- Communicate with business unit, tax leaders and other sub-contracted support functions

- Drive standardization, automation and process improvements to ensure VAT/GST compliance

Essential Job Description:

Oversee and Manage the East Africa/Great lakes region sales and marketingDevelop Marketing and sales strategies especially to NGO and manage reltex, customer relationships Develop and manage orders and order forecasts from customers – 12 month rolling forecasts Day firm Gather and analyze trends and market information Feedback product performance and market data (Voice of Customer) into R&D, product development and marketing efforts Help manage and drive margins for the Reltex tarpaulins Africa P&L Work with national, regional and local government officials to ensure programmatic progress and success Work with the Kenya production team to streamline order fulfillment process Strong distribution and sales development skills and proven experience in REGIONAL sales and marketing qualitiesStrong sales management skills – developing sales teams, targets and delivering results Consumer Sales /NGO / G.O. /MFI / Banking relationship background a plus Well-developed quantitative and analytical abilities Highly organized Excellent phone/Communication skillsAbility to collaborate with a team (often electronically) Ability to think ahead - anticipates and solves problems before they arise Technical background, ability to communicate technical details to non-technical persons such as government officials or marketing firms Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (Communication in Swahili an attractive skill) Computer / Smart phone savvy – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint Bachelor’s degree (Marketing or business administration), MBA preferred.

Baseline Assessment in the Coast Region - GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP)
Over the past 17 years, the GEF has invested substantial financial resources in the development and implementation of the GEF Small Grants Programme, which currently operates in 120 countries. At the individual country level, this investment has resulted in extensive portfolios of community based projects yielding positive impacts on local livelihoods, the capacities of local organizations to constructively participate in sustainable development activities, policy dialogue and, ultimately, global environmental benefits.
SGP results and impacts have grown over the years in many countries thanks to the installed capacity of the SGP Country Programmes. These Programmes are managed by a National Coordinator (NC) at the service of a voluntary National Steering Committee (NSC) that is charged with Programme policy and decision making. In addition, the UNDP country Office provides managerial support as well as administrative services to the SGP.The overall objective of this consultancy is to:-
i) Conduct a baseline assessment in the coast region within the confines of the project framework, and identify gaps for SGP involvement in (i) mangrove forest conservation, (ii) conservation of globally significant marine BD, and (iii) strengthening the operations of BMUs within the context of Co-management areas.(ii) Assist in organizing a regional SGP FSP launch in August 2012, at which the key findings of the baseline assessment will be disseminated to CSOs, government partners and stakeholders.
