Field Marketing Specialist - Nairobi
 Reporting to Head of Marketing VGE Africa, the successful candidate will execute the Marketing activities to support achievement of VGE’s goals for the African sales region and drive the marketing pipeline so that Vodafone can achieve their objectives in Africa.

Key responsibilities include;

Senior Wimax Planning Engineer         

Ref: TECHNOLOGY_SWPE__SEP _2012
Reporting to the Senior Manager-RAN Optimization, the position holder will assist in the analysis and design of WiMAX systems in 3.5/3.3/2.6/2.5 GHz using specific Atoll RF planning tools including capacity and frequency planning and proposes optimization techniques through field work.

All these include but not limited to: Interference analysis, Coverage mapping, Link Budget calculations, Profiles Calculation for LOS, Selection of Best sites through analysis of topographical maps; and preparation of BOQ rd.

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

Assist the analysis and design of WiMAX systems in 3.5GHz using specific RF planning tools;
Execution of RF designs for specific markets including capacity and frequency planning and proposes optimization techniques through field work;
Use of Atoll RF planning tools in design of WiMAX;
Use of RF propagation models for use in designing WiMAX networks;
Selection of Best sites through Analysis of topographical maps for sites selection according to coverage;

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills & competencies:
Min 2 years of RF network design experience with leading roles as a network planner;
Bachelors of Electrical and Electronic Engineering or communications Engineering Degree;
Specific experience in using commercial RF network planning tools for Wireless Broadband
Working knowledge of IEEE 802.16 standards;
WiMAX Forum Certification is a plus;
Basic understanding of RF propagation models and their application for Wireless Broadband;
Knowledge with RF measurement equipment (spectrum analyzer, power meter, etc.);
Prior RF/microwave experience with a wireless service provider;
Basic understanding and hands-on experience with RF instrumentation and lab tools;
Basic RF systems engineering knowledge and analytical skills;
Experience in operation of cell sites: installation, verification and RF optimization;
Computer Proficiency;
Team Work;
Confidence;
Communications skills
Analytical Thinking, Organized and Goal Oriented
Ability to work under pressure and with tight timelines

Senior Investigator

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Fraud & Investigations, the Senior Investigator will provide support to the Fraud Management team by undertaking fraud, forensic & other investigations including extracting, analyzing and interpreting data, gathering evidence, summarizing & reporting information gathered and other complex business information in a well understood manner.

Key Responsibilities:

6+ years of working experience in core networks of a mobile network operators or core network vendors;
Deep knowledge & skillset of 3gpp/ETSI/ITU-t technical specifications including new technologies such as IMS, LTE, EPC, SAE, GSM, UMTS;
Excellent experience on software & hardware architecture and configuration of core network elements including SGSN, GGSN, PCRF, MSS, MGW, STP and CSDB (HLR, EIR, MNP, AAA) on vendors like Huawei, NSN & Cisco;
Working knowledge of network elements like SMSC, OCS/Billing, RNCs, BSCs and RAN (BTS, NodeB) and the related interfaces;

This role is within the Consumer Sales department; Consumer Business Unit. The role requires a high-performing sales person who can deliver outstanding results to both dealers and retail customers. To reinforce our position as clear market leaders, we are looking to fill the following position: 
Area Sales Manager

Reporting to the Senior Manage Regional Sales, the job holder will be responsible for growing Sales within the Area by developing innovative ways of increasing/growing airtime sales at the Point of Purchase; Value added services and connections by ensuring availability of the company products including promotion handsets and M-PESA float at all times within the area of Accountability and selling of Safaricom data in assigned Sales Areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Effective implementation of   distribution strategy in the trade to achieve availability and grow sales within the assigned area;Ensure achievement of selling outlet penetration targets on monthly, quarterly and annual basis;Ensure full compliance on KYC/AML across the M-PESA network in assigned territory;Ensure achievement of set M-PESA transaction revenue and  airtime Usage targets;Ensure achievement of set, airtime, data & handsets on a Monthly, Quarterly and Annual revenue targets in your assigned Sales Area;Prepare, plan and execute Area Sales programs aimed at market penetration, availability of the M-PESA services at all times;Ensure shops are well branded according to Safaricom dealer & M-PESA standards;Ensure achievement of set new subscriber customers and achievement of set targets on new M-PESA registered customers;Work and collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement of key Management and sales routines;Contribute to the achievement of 100% M-PESA TDR Call Rates.The ideal candidate will be a qualified Bachelor’s degree holder from a recognized university with minimum 3 years experience in selling and/or trade execution preferably within an FMCG /Telecom environment;You will have strong selling skills with the ability to implement and coordinate sales initiatives;You will be able to develop route plans, sales promotions and initiatives;You will be able to motivate dealers and retailers to double their efforts to improve sales within the assigned region;You will be able to develop relationships through managing relationships with dealers, retailers and customers.
