A flower farm in Kitengela seeks to recruit for the following vacancies.
He should have worked as a personal driver ( to a  Boss)  before for not less than two years.  He should reside around Karen and its environs or willing to relocate. He should have a O - Level certificate and have basic training in a business course. He should be a good communicator, able to manage time well and work under pressure. He should  be pleasant and able to learn fast. He should understand Nairobi and its environs very well and be able to drive within the city.He should be 28 years and above. He should have a certificate of good conduct and a valid driving license. Salary will be KES 22,065 Gross.
The candidates will be based in Nairobi CBD.

Truck Driver

He should have worked as a Truck driver before for not less than 2 years.  He should reside around Kitengela and its environs and be willing to relocate. He should have a O - Level certificate. He should be a good communicator, able to manage time well and work under pressure. He should  be pleasant and able to learn fast. He should be 28 years and above. He should have a certificate of good conduct and a valid driving license. Salary will be KES 13,810 Gross.

Exports and Logistics Coordinator
A bachelors degree in the relevant field. He / she should have worked in a busy office; performing all round office duties with dedication and efficiency. He/ she  should have ability to work under pressure, multi-task  and work under minimal supervision. He / she should be a fast learner. He/ she should be computer literate, able to ably communicate online and come up with relevant reports on duties assigned. He/ she should have good interpersonal and negotiation skills. He/ she should have the ability to meet deadlines at the shortest period. NB: Prior experience in office administration will be an added advantage.
 Salary: Will be negotiated depending on experience and potential.
 A bachelors degree in the relevant field. He / she should have worked in a similar position in a busy office; performing all round office duties with dedication and efficiency. They should have ability to work under pressure, multi-task  and work under minimal supervision. He/ she should coordinate and facilitate the international codes of standards ( auditing the company's processes)  He / she should be able to coordinate the duties of a Safety Officer as per OSHA guidelines and recommendationsHe/ she should have good interpersonal and negotiation skills. He/ she should have the ability to meet deadlines at the shortest period. NB: Prior experience in office administration will be an added advantage.

Office Assistant
 

A bachelors degree or diploma in HR Management. She should have good communication and interpersonal skills. She should have ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. She should work with minimal supervision and be attentive to detail. She should have 3 years and above of experience in Office Administration. She should be able to grasp new work processes fast. She should have adequate computer knowledge and be able to come up with reports for various tasks given. She should be honest and have integrity at the work place. She should be a team player. NB: Prior experience in office administration will be an added advantage.

Baseline Assessment in the Coast Region - GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP)
Over the past 17 years, the GEF has invested substantial financial resources in the development and implementation of the GEF Small Grants Programme, which currently operates in 120 countries. At the individual country level, this investment has resulted in extensive portfolios of community based projects yielding positive impacts on local livelihoods, the capacities of local organizations to constructively participate in sustainable development activities, policy dialogue and, ultimately, global environmental benefits.
SGP results and impacts have grown over the years in many countries thanks to the installed capacity of the SGP Country Programmes. These Programmes are managed by a National Coordinator (NC) at the service of a voluntary National Steering Committee (NSC) that is charged with Programme policy and decision making. In addition, the UNDP country Office provides managerial support as well as administrative services to the SGP.The overall objective of this consultancy is to:-
i) Conduct a baseline assessment in the coast region within the confines of the project framework, and identify gaps for SGP involvement in (i) mangrove forest conservation, (ii) conservation of globally significant marine BD, and (iii) strengthening the operations of BMUs within the context of Co-management areas.(ii) Assist in organizing a regional SGP FSP launch in August 2012, at which the key findings of the baseline assessment will be disseminated to CSOs, government partners and stakeholders.

Individual consultancy to carry out feasibility study on of small scale bottled pure water in Nairobi Kenya

The overall objective

Our client is considering conducting a feasibility study to determine if bottled pure drinking water business is viable in Eastland region of Nairobi City. The feasibility study must demonstrate the likelihood of a potential business's short- and long-term success.

This market study will determine if pure bottled drinking water business has a possibility for success in Eastland region of Nairobi city. The study will be considering the market environment, operational requirements and the financial projections. The study must completely review the working and start-up processes of the business.

The feasibility study should be straight forward and not more than 20 pages including annexes.

The task will take a period of two weeks including completion and submission of the report.

Qualifications;

Education

Masters degree/5 years experience in finance, business, entrepreneurship development or related field.Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the same sector or related assignment, proven experience in market survey tasks in Kenya. The following would be strong assets:
Distinctive experience in working with the Private Sector on issues of business strategy, business modeling and new business developmentExperience working in the bottled water /juices / food sectorExperience in supply chain design and managementExperience related to issues of economic development and entrepreneurship development in Kenya (Nairobi Region)Note: The Terms of Reference will be provided to qualified candidates.

The Small Scale Horticulture Development Project (SHDP) is jointly funded by the Government
of Kenya and the African Development Fund.

Its main objective is to contribute towards poverty reduction and food security by improving the performance of irrigation and marketing infrastructure, as well as enhanced methods of horticultural productivity in Nine Districts across Eastern and Rift Valley Provinces.

The Project invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the above post to be employed on open ended contract basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Clerks of Works/ Site Inspectors/Site Supervisors are required to supervise contracts on behalf
of the employer such as Construction of Irrigation Infrastructure including Canal Lining, Weir
Construction, Installing Pipe Networks and Erecting Marketing and Office Buildings.

The main responsibility of the Clerks of Works/Site Supervisors will include making sure that work is carried out to the client’s Standards, Specification and Schedule.

She/he will ensure that the correct materials and workmanship are used and that the client is given quality work and value for money.

She/he will be required to be on site all the time and be vigilant in inspections of a large range of technical aspects of the work.

This involves:

Be familiar with all relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them and using them as a reference when inspecting the workMaking visual inspectionsTaking measurements and samples on site to make sure that the work and the materials meet the specifications and quality standardsEnsure that the works are within the legal requirementsBe conversant with health and safety legislation and bring any shortfalls observed to the attention of the EngineerKeeping detailed records of all aspects of the works and putting the records into monthly statements/reports for the client.These are and not limited to progress and any delays, the number and type of workers employed, weather conditions, visitors to the site, drawings received, deliveries, instructions and any other details of any significant eventsQualifications
