Production Manager
Location: Tanzania
Number Required: 1Job Overview: The Production Manager will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost effective manufacture of a variety of crop protection chemicals.
The position oversees all production process activities including formulation, packaging, maintenance, quality control, and logistics functions at the factory.
The position is responsible for optimizing production and ensuring annual productivity targets are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administer Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) standards to ensure the protection of personnel, the community, and the environment;
Direct, manage, lead, motivate and monitor production staff;
Organize and control maintenance functions to optimize cost and reliability;
Identify, analyze, and resolve personnel problems to ensure an effective, involved and motivated work force;
Provide management with information that is accurate and timely to permit them to anticipate problems, recognize opportunities, and ensure effective decisions and actions;
Ensure compliance with legal requirements regulating plant operation, distribution of product, and management of employees;
Liaise with marketing and other department to translate market needs into actual products;
Identify production constraints or bottlenecks and develop means to address them;
Perform other duties as may be required by management from time to time.
Person Specifications / Qualifications / Skills
Bachelors of Science, Agricultural Production, Bio-Chemistry, or other related Degree;
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Operations, Maintenance, or Technical Leadership Position;
Understanding and demonstrated commitment to EH&S excellence;
Proven leadership, communication, managerial and supervisory skills.
Sound working knowledge of basic chemical unit operations, including manufacturing and packaging;
Broad overall understanding of the crop protection chemical business a plus.
