Savannah Cement is seeking to recruit highly motivated, dynamic, innovative and result oriented professionals, seeking a thrilling and fulfilling experience, to join the company in the following positions:

Human Resources Assistant

This position reports to the Head of Human Resources and is charged with providing administrative support to the Human Resources function, maintaining the human resource information system, employee records and coordinating the various HR administrative functions between Savannah cement and service providers to achieve the desired results.

Responsibilities

Maintains the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)Maintains the medical scheme records and generates a monthly statement on the status of all medical accounts in liaison with the scheme providersEnsures timely communication to and from service providersFacilitates computation of membership benefits and their paymentAssists in the recruitment processAssists in the induction programme for new employeesLiaises with relevant government bodies to obtain work permits for non- resident employeesEnsures all employees are registered with statutory bodies such as NHIF, NSSF and KRA; andAssists in evaluating training courses.Qualifications, skills and experience

This position reports to the Head of Sales and Marketing, this job entails organizing the storage and distribution of goods using complex IT and telecommunications systems.

Responsibilities

Plan and manage the movement of goods in the supply chain, liaising with Transporters, retailers and consumersAnalyze and give strategic response to external influences, such as legislation, fuel costs and environmental pressuresControl stock, warehousing and ensuring structures are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materialsMonitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goodsForecast stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and evaluate performanceAnalyze data to monitor performance and plan improvements and demandLiaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers and develop business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and generating new solutions; andImplement health and safety proceduresQualifications, Skills and Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a business related field with professional qualifications in distribution management or equivalent. The cement manufactured by East African Portland Cement Company, is sold under the brand name Blue Triangle Cement and has been instrumental in the regions social-economic development as virtually all spheres of development have benefited from the use of Blue Triangle Cement.

The company is looking to fill the position of Management Accountant as part of a re-organization program that is aimed at enhancing financial reporting.

Management Accountant
Ref: EAPCC/MA/24/NOV/10

Reporting to the Finance Manager the Management Accountant will be responsible for provision of timely financial information to aid management decision making.

Specific responsibilities will include:-

Produce timely and reliable monthly and quarterly management reports.Liaise with external auditors for prompt preparation of financial statements.Liaise with departmental managers in preparation of annual budgets.Analyze departmental expenditure and advice on budgetary performance on monthly basis.Evaluate capital proposals and advise management accordingly.Ensure closure of books and subsequent review is done on schedule.Prepare standard costing reports for the entire manufacturing process.Ensure management information reports effectively and continuously serve the evolving decision making needs.We would like to discuss this position with interested but qualified candidates who satisfy the following minimum qualifications;
