The Research Care and Training Program (RCTP), is a collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and University of Washington (UW). RCTP leads the Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) program, a comprehensive HIV prevention, care and treatment program working in over 100 clinics in Nyanza Province, Kenya. Due to its continued growth, the program is seeking motivated, pro-active individual to fill the following vacancy:
Position: Senior Programmer (1 position)
To provide programming and software leadership and expertise to the Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) program.
This Senior Programmer position has overall responsibility for overseeing and improving the software to collect, manage, report on, and extract for further analysis of quality HIV clinical data collected for the FACES program, related research, and stakeholder needs. This includes the Open Medical Records System (Open MRS) software which will be integrated with Kenya EMR, the District Health Information System (DHIS), Microsoft Office tools (Access, Excel), and any other technologies and processes that may be adapted to enhance patient care, quality data, and system efficiency. Technical training and mentorship of other staff for skill development and capacity building, as well as active participation in Technical Working Groups and forums are also key responsibilities of this position.Work with FACES management and subject experts to identify the ongoing needs for the processing of clinical data. Project Summary

Futures Group provides HMIS support to the Government of Kenya (GoK) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Under a new contract, the Futures team provides a range of technical assistance including: support for the continued development and implementation of the national HMIS strategy; improving information flow to guide policy and program decisions; facilitating interoperability between disparate HMIS including specific efforts to harmonize and integrate laboratory, pharmacy, and electronic medical records (EMR) sub-systems; and developing a data warehouse.

Position Summary

The Software Programmer HMIS Specialist will have technical responsibility for developing software applications and providing training to support electronic patient management monitoring software systems and subsystems that include processes for installation, interoperability and integration coding of electronic health record (EHR) system, hospital subsystems inclusive of laboratory, pharmacy. S/he will possess very strong communication skills and competencies in programming and developing programming solutions working in a team environment. This position will work closely with members of the existing project and software development team and will interact with local partner staff, Kenya ministries of health and international technical staff. S/he will provide hospital facility level training and support in all areas of software coding, application development, database development as needed.

Key Responsibilities

* Enhancement of IQCare EMR software to meet facility specific functionality for use including form building, configurations and site specific adjustments
* Setup of IQCare and training at EMR model sites and large scale national rollout. Duties in this regard include install and configuration of software, computers and networks
* Establishing linkages with other systems including the District Health Information System (DHIS), other EMRs
* Development of queries and reports in IQCare for model and other HMIS LPTFs
* Field IQCare software testing for installation and also for version enhancements
* Support the development of other IQSolutions as requested

Technical Skills

* Minimum five years hands-on, experience in coding and software applications development.
* Three years hands-on experience with transact SQL, CSS, XML, .Net (C#, ASP), JavaScript required
* Experienced in developing both the Front and Back End applications using Visual Studio required
* Knowledge of transactional databases (MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite) and database programming including stored procedures, triggers and functions required
* Experience in Source Code Management systems (SourceSafe) highly preferred
* Training experience highly preferred
* Ability to read, test and debug C#, JavaScript software coding required
* Proficient in .Net with solid object oriented modeling skills, UML, Use Cases, and EA

Our client, a leading provider of IT business including HR Management and Accounting Software solutions is looking for a Senior Programmer.

Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Software Programmer (Visual Basic/SQL Server)

Main Purpose of the Job
He will be primarily responsible for maintaining/developing code.

Distributes maintains and supports a variety of Windows products, update of price changes from head office to our Complexes in Kenya for infusion businesses and to support any other related services.

Main Responsibilities
* Work with the departmental staff (e.g., support staff, IT Manager) to plan program code enhancements and changes.
* Create, test and maintain the organizations program code.
* Create labels and reports using Crystal Reports
* Provide assistance to Organization’s technical support staff when they are unable to resolve a program, SQL database, or IT issue by themselves.
* Occasionally contact Complexes as may be needed to clarify the intent of a new feature or resolve a problem.
* Provide general programming assistance to other Organization’s projects as may be needed.

Qualifications & Skills Required

The programmer must have 3+ years experience with:
* Visual Basic .NET and Visual Basic 6, including the use of program “classes” and creation of DLL’s
* SQL Server databases, SQL, ADO.NET
* Windows 2000/NT Server and Windows XP/2000/98
* SourceSafe, Crystal Reports

Experience with the following is desirable but not required:
* ASP.NET
* MS Word, MS Excel, MS Exchange
* Networking/LANs, TCP/IP protocol
* Programming Languages.
* ASCX12N, NCPDP EDI record formats
* Health Level 7 (HL7) record formats
* Software for home infusion/pharmacy/medical operations or billing/claims

The programmer should also possess the following traits:
