Company Agronomist
Location: Kenya

Job overview: The Company Agronomist will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with identified customers, and working face to face with farmers.
You will learn how to help farmers prosper and maximize their return by utilizing our full range of crop inputs products, services, and resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fully understand and actively participate in the planning and execution of the Company’s, business plans, sales and marketing efforts – in particular, the process of defining and developing relationships with targeted customers and prospects;
In partnership with Field Marketers, the Business Development Manager and other customer solution specialists, you will maintain contact with customers to understand their needs so that you can position crop inputs products and services in an effort to help them grow a better more profitable crop;
Learn about producers cropping needs through detailed needs assessments, spending time on the farm evaluating producer’s crops, and evaluation of yield and soil data;
Constantly work to enhance sales skill, exhibit a strong customer-service focus and work to advance the technical understanding of crop inputs products and their benefits to the producer customer;
Keep and use detailed records on the targeted customers to enhance the company’s understanding of customers’ problems and needs;
Communicate producer trends, marketing plans, crop conditions, wants / needs / concerns to the appropriate people within the company especially production department;
Work with regional agribusiness cluster specialists to further the company’s business prospects.
Perform other duties as required by management from time to time.
Person specifications/Qualifications/Skills
A bachelor’s degree in science, agriculture or any other related field preferred;
Two (2) or more years of sales experience within an agricultural environment
Good product knowledge and agronomy experience and field work knowledge;
Strong customer-service focus with the ability to develop long-term relationships with growers based on technical knowledge and trust;
Strong communication and listening skills;
Ability to influence decision-making at different levels;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
A valid driver’s license and interest in out of town incursions;
Demonstrable leadership skills and experience;
Excellent ability to solve problems and make decisions independently
