Goodman Agencies Ltd is a Pharmaceutical Company registered in Kenya with a regional presence in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan. We are importers and distributors of quality and affordable human, veterinary, surgical and paramedical products from the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. Goodman Agencies Ltd in Kenya is looking for talented and competent candidates to the position of Sales & Marketing Manager for our Offices in Tanzania.

Position Overview

Reporting to the CEO, the Sales and Marketing Manager (SMM) holds a leading role in managing the sales and marketing function of a company. This role is the engine of company for growth.

The SMM will ensure a consistent, profitable increase in sales revenues through positive planning and the deployment and management of sales personnel.

The SMM will set objectives, strategies and action plans to improve sales and earnings in the short- and long-term planning cycle.

An important part of his/her responsibility will be to help the sales team by creating ongoing activities that promote growth of Goodman Agencies Ltd. Additionally he/she continuously researches competitors’ promotional and sales activities and develops strategies to successfully compete in order to deliver profitability and long term sustainability.

He/ She will be responsible for the overall management, marketing and sales of the organization’s products in partnership with the marketing team.

He/ She will be the primary liaison between the company/ medical institutions/ government tenders/ and the distribution channel and responsible for maintaining the distributor relationships, and for maintaining the systematic contacts and follow – up with buyers and distributors.

He/ She will also be responsible for ensuring that the stores maintain adequate stocking levels and minimize stock outs; as well as ensuring that the field force has continuous training on professional skills and product knowledge, reports are properly analyzed and follow ups are conducted on a regular basis.

Purpose

To provide on-going market intelligence and undertake market research to determine customer needs.

To achieve customer satisfaction through follow up of efficient planning, co-ordination and implementation of Goodman Agencies Activities.
Qualifications and Experience Required for Sales & Marketing Jobs in Kenya


8 or more years in a senior sales and marketing position in the Kenyan / East African pharmaceutical industry

Proven ability and experience with motivating and leading a sales team

Extensive relevant networks

BSc/MBA in marketing or business studies

Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies

Significant experience working in a fast-paced environment Personal commitment

Computer literate – Excel, Word, Outlook, document management systems

Other Skills/Abilities

Energetic and highly motivated

Excellent oral and written English

Knowledge of local languages

Integrity

Personal commitment
