Under the direct supervision of Senior Guard and the overall guidance of Security Associate, the Security Guard will provide daily guarding of the UNDP personnel and premises and Assets. The Security Guard will ensure that only authorized pedestrians and vehicles will enter UNDP Premises. The Security Guard will conduct night and day patrols and report any untoward incident(s) to Security Team immediately. The Security Guard will conduct necessary search on vehicles and pedestrians as required at the entrance and exits to UNDP premises and ensure that any security equipment under his/her responsibility is attended to.
Security Operations Support Job Responsibilities
Ensure 24 hour man guarding services at the UNDP
As the security guard is the first person that visitors to UN compounds encounter, impressions of the organization start at the main entrance. It is paramount that guards present a professional and courteous, but firm image;
Guard will have to ensure that no UN property leaves the UN compound without an authorized gate pass signed by a designated staff member only. Confiscated items will be logged and reported to the LSA as soon as practical;
Guards will ensure no unauthorized entry into UN compounds by anyone without the proper credentials and/ or identification;
Guard will ensure that offices are locked at the end of day after staff members have finished the day’s business;

The security guard shall read the log book at the commencement of duty and maintain a shift log book which will record activities of significance.
Ensure all vehicles entry into UN compounds are those identified/marked as belonging to UN Agencies,
Representatives and their Deputies, Ministers of the host Government and their Deputies, Heads of Local
Diplomatic Missions and their Deputies as directed by the LSA. All others will park their vehicles outside the compound unless otherwise specified by the LSA;
Ensure proper inspection of authorized entries;
Inspects letters and packages delivered into UNDP’s compound in the presence of delivery persons, at the gate, and the name and address and signature of the delivery person logged in a log book;
Advise the UN on possible security measures to improve security delivery in the UNDP premises.

Qualifications For Security operations Support Jobs In Kenya
Education
Completion of Secondary Education Certificate
Experience
Two years of relevant experience with any International Organization or UN
Language Requirements
Fluency in English as the official language of the duty station required, and ability to communicate orally in Arabic desirable, but not mandatory.
