Summary: Our client is a soft drink manufacturing company based in Central Province/Region of Kenya.

Job Purpose: Based in Central Province / Region of Kenya, the role aims to manage day- to-day warehousing and Distribution operations and to ensure that related functions are carried out in a timely, reliable and cost effective manner; 

To provide materials, equipment, and supplies; To direct, receive, warehouse, and distribute materials and products;To supervise staff to ensure that all KPIs are met; to guide, train and develop teams. 
This position reports to the Head of Supply Chain.

Primary Responsibilities:

Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing, monitoring, reviewing and improving security procedures and protocols.Schedules daily activities, organizes and directs operation and job responsibilities within the warehouse to ensure effective management of resources. Overviews the inventory records and location for production control and cost accounting to ensure adherence to standards and distribution procedures Identifies potential risks to, and resolves/mitigates challenges to ensure continuous and uninterrupted flow of operations both at the main warehouse and satellite unitsImplements Security and Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with standards/ requirements. Serves as an adviser to management on necessary actions.Builds, maintains and enhances customer relationships and ensures impeccable customer service across the function at all times Maintains agreed physical Warehousing standards by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts reconciling with ERP; Coordinating with Finance/ Audit function for stock taking & stock reconciliationEnsures that all team KPIs are met; Conducts appraisals and reviews to ensure that objectives are being achieved. Ensures that employees are guided, supported and trained daily; organizes structured on job trainings; develops career paths for the team members.Contributes to overall team effort through cross-functional liaison to accomplish set goals.Education and Qualification - Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in a business or on any vertical related to Logistics and Supply Chain Relevant postgraduate/ professional qualification. Membership to a professional body is highly desirableA minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a managerial role in large-scale warehouse and distribution set-up. Prior FMCG experience is Mandatory.Supply Chain Project Management experience in a dynamic/ rapid-growth environment start- up operations Must have previous hands-on and extensive experience working with SAP-ERPHands-on Management/ Leadership styleCritical thinking and problem solving skills Advanced oral and written communication skillsAbility to function in a high- pressure environmentAbility to meet aggressive deadlines Unquestioned integrity/ Sound ethical valuesHow to Apply:

The LWF Humanitarian Emergency Team is based in Nairobi and responsible for implementation of the LWF emergency response strategy in Eastern and Central Africa. The team has core competences in regards to emergency response and scaling up of ongoing response, emergency preparedness, risk reduction and rapid assessment of emergencies. It is envisaged that more than 50% of the time will be spent outside Kenya.

The Programme Officer will, under the Team Leader, be responsible to plan, implement and scale up emergency response operations through various sectors including WASH, Shelter, Camp Management and Protection. The individual will liaise with partners, coordinate the LWF response with other actors and ensure that implementation is coordinated with the LWF country program in respective country (when applicable). He/She is expected to play a leading role in the practical aspects of emergency response. The Programme Officer shall have the capacity to assess/respond to emergencies in countries in the region. The incumbent will also be involved in training of staff on emergency preparedness and response, contingency planning and rapid assessments.

Professional Qualifications

• A University degree in social science including disaster management/international relations from a recognized university.
Relevant experience and competencies
• 5 years of experience in I/NGO’s.
• Experience in conducting needs assessments and setting up new programmes in emergency setting.
• Knowledge of different sectors including WASH, Shelter, Camp Management and Protection.
• Experience in training of staff.
• Knowledge of DRR, HAP, Rights Based Approach and other humanitarian principles and approaches.
• Proven, documented practical field experience from more than one country in East and Central Africa will be an important aspect.
• All persons must be able to travel, frequently, with very short notice and be able and willing to stay out of the home base for several weeks or even months at a time.

Working from a Regional perspective, ensure that security management systems in each country comply with required standards under SMS and support country offices in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of their respective security strategies and Security Management Plans.

The Public Health Engineer will conduct rapid and detailed needs assessment in the camp(s) and the host communities.H/She will support pipeline survey, design technical drawing, bill of quantities for water distribution facilities and organize logistics supports to supply materials at site.The person will ensure that minimum standards of technical quality in all engineering activities and interventions are technically appropriate, realistic and budget sound.H/She will also prepare agreement/procedures documents for labor contract or sub-contract relevant works.Qualifications & Requirements:

Background of the position:

The Public Health Program Manager will contribute to the technical development of HIJRA’s current public health initiatives in Banadir and Lower Shabelle, and support the implementation of technically sound, and locally appropriate public health programming, including Health.

The Public Health Program Manager will also play a lead role in providing training and capacity building of Health team at the field level, as a key contributor to HIJRA commitment to ongoing improvement of quality and impact of our public health initiatives in Banadir and Lower Shabelle region.

The Public Health Manager will be based in Mogadishu with frequent field travel to HIJRA program sites to respond to field needs, conduct assessments for program expansion in our emergency response, and represent HIJRA in technical meetings and on working groups.

Provide overall technical guidance and supervision to HIJRA health and wash team, WASH Program officer and Medical Coordinator based in Mogadishu, as well as WASH field officers in charge of project locations.Support the health and WASH staff in needs assessment, development of concept papers, project proposals and responses to donors from a technical public health perspectiveTake the leadership in conducting needs assessments to respond to new development in program opportunitiesCoordinate and conduct training of national health team staff to maintain and develop awareness and understanding on international standards in public health (including WASH) program implementation and incorporating context specific and culturally acceptable approaches at the local level.
