CAP Youth Empowerment Institute Kenya, is supported by MasterCard Foundation, was established to provide Basic Employability Skills Training (BEST) for disadvantaged youth in the society with particular focus on women to get equitable, qualitative learning and access to promising labour market oriented opportunities, savings and credit that support their pathways to safe and positive futures.

The key purpose of the organization is to assist 10,000 disadvantaged youth to make informed choices, develop labour-market oriented employability skills and access job placements, savings and enterprise development support.

About the position We are urgently looking for a Trainer who has skills and experience in any of the two (2) fields mentioned above.

The incumbent will be posted in one of the CAP Centers currently operational as a Trainer.

The right candidate must be self-driven and must work with minimal Supervision.

 Duties and Responsibilities

Developing, customizing and delivering curriculum.Theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization;preparing and maintaining of schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, teaching and learning materials and trainee records;carrying out trainee assessment; ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment;conducting co-curricular activities; maintain trainee discipline; guidance and counseling of trainees;Monitoring trainees on field work and industrial attachment and compiling progress reports. • Assist students get internships and placements opportunities.To source for guest lectures and organize field visits for the trainees.To help the trainees to find internship and employment opportunities.Excellent Presentation skills. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Networking skills a must. Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.Proven Carpentry skills. Willingness to work in tough and competitive environment. One (1) year working experience in any of the two fields highlighted. Aged 25- 30 years. Must be mature and with the right attitude.KCSE and Relevant Diploma.Must have basic computer skills. Must have passion of working with young people.

Youth Volunteer Trainers for Village Savings and Loans (VSL) – Gatanga Constituency (3 positions)
Are you a youth living in Gatanga constituency?Are you passionate about young people and actively involved in youth activities where you live through the local Youth Village Bunge?Do you want to gain skills, tools and experience that can allow you to go into consultancy (self-employment), work with micro-finance and business development institutions or NGO’s involved in youth community savings programs?Then this is the opportunity is for you!

EURECAD (based in Gatanga Constituency) with the support of Mercy Corps and through funding by USAID, is currently implementing the Yes Youth Can (YYC) Program in Central Province.

The program is designed to empower Kenya’s youth population through building the capacity of youth groups and organizations to engage with markets, governments and their immediate communities;

and to pursue their legitimate needs and interests more effectively in a way that builds positive inter-ethnic networks.

The program has an economic empowerment component which includes formation of Village Savings and Loans (VSL) groups for young people within Bunges.

We are looking for volunteer young women and men to be empowered as constituency-based VSL trainers to support this.

You will be helping youths in your constituency mobilize their own resources for domestic and business use as you develop your own competence in this field.

Non-Governmental Organization registered in Kenya and operating in Somalia. ADRA is seeking services of experienced consultant to carry out a Training Workshop on Energy Project Implementation, M&E and Reporting for Non State Actors (NSAs) in Somaliland.

Purpose of training:

To undertake a training workshop for representatives NSAs to equip them with skills for planning, managing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on energy projects.

Consultant’s responsibilities and tasks:

The AMREF International Training Centre runs a variety of training programs for health and development personnel in Africa. These include short-term courses of one to four weeks and academic courses including, one-year diploma course, Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health and Masters in Public Health. Basic Purpose:
To impart knowledge on products, processes & systems and skill the role holders on the Company’s ways of working and thus enable them to achieve defined business metrics.

Principle Accountabilities::
Expected End Results Major Activities
Managing Operations effectively at the State, province and zonal level.

* Evaluating the extent of knowledge enhancement by conducting Job Knowledge Quiz’s
* Impacting productivity of sales personnel by enhancing their sales skills
* Continuous improvement in training delivery and content by analyzing PTR and feedback scores.
* Imparting training programs at all levels i.e. from Basic to advanced skills.

Customization of Content as per the business and people requirement of the Opco operating in.
* Understand and study the business challenges and the market reality of the region operating in.
* Update one’s knowledge on country’s laws and regulations so as to customize content accordingly which helps the sales staff to sell products and resolve customer queries while complying with the local laws.
* Get an in-depth understanding of the training requirements of the sales staff so as to modify the content accordingly.

Major Challenges:
The challenges faced by this role holder would be to understand and adapt to the changing needs of the business in the region one operates in. The holder would have to be constantly updated on the various products and schemes from the competition and the company and thus update the content accordingly.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

Education
The ideal candidate should be in possession of a Graduate or Post Graduate qualification from a recognized university

Relevant Experience:
Have a minimum of 5-7 years CS experience, at least 2 of which should preferably be in the telecom sector
Personal Characteristics & Behaviors:
* Strong Communication Skills – Both written and spoken
* Knowledge of local language
* People’s person who has the ability to create bonds easily and quickly
* Good Presentation Skills
